Yeeeeeaaaaah, when I read the bit about narrow talking points being allowed, I knew the author was either going to have a good point about Reddit's tendency to circlejerk, or be a bigoted piece of shit. Not really shocked it's the latter.
They're coming from 4chan. It was obvious how it was going to go just by the format of the post, before reading a single word

The problem is that 4chan is too degenerate and reddit is too, well... reddit. Unfortunately Lemmy is far from perfect as well.

I've found some of the more shit post focused communities to actually be useful (or at least I did back when i still used Reddit).
PrisonHooch had more helpful advice and recommendations than HomeBrewing; PoliticalCompassMemes actually allowed space for Leftists to debate the Far-Right; Cremposting was where you went to discuss your tinfoil hat theory's on the works of Brandon Sanderson; etc. (I know there was a dozen or so of these I used to lean into, but those are the three that immediately come to mind).

I was banned from the whole site because a mod got mad that I reported someone for abusive behavior that said mod agreed with.
I got banned because I said “1 like = 1 wank” in r/entertainment about a pornstar that had died. I thought it would be fitting but I guess I was wrong.

2westerneurope4u unironically has some of the most important and honest discussions among Europeans, because people don't need to worry that much about what they are writing. They have mastered less moderation, without becoming a hate filled cesspool.

Reddit is populated by Bill Maher flavored liberals, 4chan is populated by Asmondgold flavored cockroaches, Tildes is populated by approximately seven users (but they're all pretty cool), and Lemmy users are smart with tech and stupid with everything else

It would probably be against the rules, because a big part of it is making fun of national stereotypes and it might look racist, if you didn't know what's going on. I recommend checking it out on reddit. I think you'll quickly realize why it would be a problem here and you also run the risk of people taking it literally and attracting the wrong crowd.
So found the Reddit reposting bot for it at [email protected] (its just a not that reposts thing from Reddit).
[email protected] looks more active. I'll take a peek at it this weekend.

I'm surprised the owners don't divvy out ban quotas per month. Half of the users they ban aren't even conservatives, who just had logical misunderstandings with an admin one day; wannabe couch revolutionaries looking for targets in the absence of anything real to do.
