Me in highschool. Man I thought I'd have those friends forever. It was really cool how socializing wasn't so high-stakes back then. I kinda knew everybody of all sorts there, and could hold a conversation with almost anyone. Once I had to move away to the middle of nowhere after graduation, and they got jobs and stuff, I was left with one (1) single friend that actively sought to catch up with me regularly. He earned the top spot of "best friend." The rest just forgot I existed because I decided to drop Facebook. (And I provided alternative methods to reach me.) My once best pal would usually respond to "How's it going man? :D" with "Work." That's it. I realize one of the biggest fantasies we see through our screens and on our pages is a group of fellows with unbreakable bonds. From sitcoms to superheroes, and now even tabletop gaming, I think we all just want a group we can struggle and rejoice together with, and that's become such a coveted grail of a thing. But the world is designed to isolate and busy and fatigue us as adults, and everything has gotten so socially tense and high stakes it's hard to form anything with new people beyond mere acquaintanceship, because you can never be sure who people really are anymore. Lol sorry I didn't mean to get all deep there lol...

There are always going to be bad men trying to commit aggression, so one should be grateful that there are other men who counter that. If you want to turn this into a man-problem, then why stop there? You might as well turn this into a human-problem. Turning this into a gender issue rather than focusing on the bad people specifically, is an arbitrary (and toxic) way of framing the issue.

My expectations? I guess I expected I could have at least half of what my parents had. Which I almost can. They afforded the house on one salary and my mom stayed at home. Me and my gf both have to have full time jobs. But, we can only pay a smaller house. My parents had five kids and sometimes struggled with money. We have one kid, two salaries and still struggle with money. For basic stuff. Just food and drinks and stuff you need. And the occasional bottle of wine or whisky. So I guess I got around half of what my parents had. What I would have hoped for is that if two people work 40 hours a week and most of the time more, we would not have to struggle. I would have hoped we could save some money. I would have hoped that I would not be waiting with service for my motorcycle until I have the money. Or be anxious about the yearly review of my car, because there could be high costs to get it approved another year. I don't mind working, I don't mind working extra, I don't mind working hard. But right now it feels like I get nothing in return. It's just expected, and you get to survive. That's it. You want more? A little more space in your house, or a little bit more time for yourself? Can't be done. And that is frustrating. Edit: seems people agree with me, thanks for the support.

It is how being a cop works in the US, if you shoot an innocent terrified black man, well maybe you switch departments but you get back on your feet, hide the racism from the media interviews and keep climbing the cop ladder!

Where do those bags go? Not saying this someone shouldn’t be just putting the bags away but surely they must go somewhere? I just keep the bags I use for groceries on the backdoor door handle. Once everything is empty they all kinda have to go back together or they’d just be strewn about the kitchen and the place they go is beside the fridge.
