What is this security anxiety he's referring to based on? The only recent provocative acts I know about have been exclusively in the Baltic sea.

A war in the arctic would be detrimental to the delicate environment up there.

I am so mad and feel so helpless.

New shipping lanes will open up in the Arctic in a few years.
And everyone wants to control them.

Realistically global warming isn't going anywhere so that environment as we know it is most likely doomed anyway. Sorry if that's cynical. I'm angry too but these things are simply beyond our control.

I understand the basis of the idea, I just don't see any actual movement that justifies militarizing Greenland.

Trump's demands and threats, along with Putin's suggestions are the beginning of the movement.

FoxNews' Watters on American TV: "We are not in high school. We don't need friends ... if we have to burn down a few bridges with Denmark to take Greenland ... we’re big boys ... we dropped A-bombs on Japan and now they are our ally… America is not handcuffed by history."

There is a straight line between Russia and USA that goes over Greenland. It is the shortest way to get to USA from Russia, if you were to fire long distance rockets or fly bombers. There is also an other straight line that goes over Alaska

Shipping lanes are only useful if countries are still trading with each other.

My only real hope is that just as WW2 gave us nuclear power, microwaves, atomics, and accelerated technological development, that any future war will end with the technology to save our world and the will to use.

There’s also aliens 2027 but I’m not gonna hold my breathe on that until I see some drones say hi.

No, they are also useful when countries are fighting each other.

While I agree, they are useful, I don't expect Russia to respect international waters should Greenland remain in control. Already they frequently venture into European water and have severed communication cables.
