            Their nukes which ride on American missiles and therefore rely on continued US support to even be a credible deterrent.

              Or they only get in at all if they commit to providing said nukes for defence of the EU. Can be a double edged sword. As far as I can see the UK has been considerably worse of in terms of their economy without the EU than the EU without the UK. The nukes might very well be the requirement, not the cherry on top.

                        Maybe they'd still pass as abstract art, and could fetch a small fortune when auctioned off, though.
