What are people's opinion on this, good or bad? I have a somewhat favorable view of IBM in open source, but not sure where I got it (so it might be misplaced).

I am also curious. Got burnt once thanks to Docker acquisition. Wondering if it is the right time to consider Terraform alternatives.

any company bought by IBM is a bad thing.

IBM can suck my nuts. they fucking DESTROYED redhat and any support for the Linux community.

IBM is the pinnacle of "old money" and doesn't give a shit about anything other than making money.

it will literally shit where it eats and give no fucks because IBM is so big.

            Fuck IBM. Fuck IBM HARD.

it's a damn shame, became I'm really good at terraform.

Guess I'll have to learn some backasswards framework or build my own.

If you do, you wouldn't need to stray too far.

Bad. Tech is way beyond being far too consolidated as it is, this acquisition should have been laughed out of existence the second it was so much as rumored about.

When it was first announced, I was out to dinner with most of my team (devops and infra and such), and the mood was very much "ugh SERIOUSLY??" Not because it had any direct effect on us mere "community edition" adopters, we're all just so sick and tired of the tech industry having such a disgusting M&A fetisg
