European defense firms appear set to profit from a massive EU investment in armaments, as the bloc reacts to a U.S. pivot away from Europe’s security under President Donald Trump.

Why? If we use that money to develop our own manufacturing capabilities (as we should) that might actually create a lot of jobs.

Do we have the European affordable housing program? No.
Do we have a surplus money? No.

What happened during the COVID-19 pandemic? Inflation, cause we printed the money.

Ok, but you could use exactly the same argument against ANY government expanse.

Free health care? Free education? Why "waste" money on that?

We are just one of the richest regions of the world, we can't throw money around on luxuries like safety and freedom. If the little green men try to take over Estonia, we can always show our solidarity by drawing hearts next to the Estonian embassy. When Adolf Trumpler reaches for Greenland we can express serious concern /s

Europe really should have a fully local drone industry, from the mines to the air. We've seen how incredibly crucial drones have been in Ukraine. Being able to produce various types of drones without relying on external sources for parts will be very important going forwards.

What is rearmament? Also, has anyone tried to just kill putin? I mean it sounds fucking simple but has anyone actually tried that yet? Like really really tried? Because blowing a city sounds to me like way more trouble than dropping pamphlets asking where Putin is so we can just blow him up.

Were a new Alexander present somewhere, he would be able to repeat his conquests with 1/10 of that sum.

Unfortunately that's not the kind of people to receive it, but I think one can expect EU to be armed enough by the time Russia finishes digesting Ukraine, and the Sunni international (and Israel as a weird attachment) finishes digesting secular\Christian\Shia remnants of the Middle East.

Putin getting killed only helps if his own people does it or believe they did it. If another country does it that probably starts WW3.
