Yeah, and I get that, but comparatively, it's very low volume of eggs/loaf. Even at the nearly 3x price hike we've experienced, it shouldn't make a whole lot of issues for bread companies. Sure, mayo would get hit hard but that's another thing that really shouldn't be that hard to live without.

What kind of bread needs eggs? Are you talking about cake and donuts? Even so, in many recipes, eggs can usually be replaced by things like linseed/chia, bananas, or bean water ("aquafaba"). I'd actually expect American food manufacturers to be price-conscious enough to have cut such corners a long time ago.

The US, grappling with an egg shortage, is reaching out to Lithuania for egg exports after Finland declined. The situation has prompted ridicule online.

Lithuania isn't a big country. Are they famous for their enormous egg production?

They even have already asked Austria. Trump is now famous for having no eggs.

Surely it’s easier to import from land neighbours? Oh..you’ve pissed them off?

You might be floored to discover there’s an entire chunk of breads that involve eggs. Brioche and Challah are perhaps the best known.

Why are we asking for this? Just let the flu work itself out, deal with our costs, and focus on domestic production. Eggs are getting thrown out still. And those imports won't save anyone who's actually starving.

Donald Cuck and company probably think bringing down egg prices will solve all their problems.

It's so sad that the joke doesn't work in English.

(For readers who don't speak German: Testicles are called Eier=eggs in German slang.)

Nah, the others must say thank you 😉

In a not so funny note, egg prices in the U.S. are up 19,19% in February (month-on-month).

If you look in /r/conservative on reddit they have a completely different view. Prices are down according to them. If you check from November.
I can't be arsed to check because I don't care.

That whole subreddit is a huge circlejerk, so small doses are required or you'll get nauseous.

Is there even an egg shortage? They stores where I shop usually have their egg fridges as full as usual, only more expensive
