Business has been critical, seeing excessive regulation that would impose a large bureaucratic burden and reduce the bloc's competitiveness.

* Some(!) business has been critical. Others have already implemented many of the changes and are now pissed that their investment in supply-chain tooling may become worthless. And this law has already had positive repercussions in other parts of the world, e.g. Ghana has invested in supply-chain software to track cocoa products.
