If the terrorists have the biggest military in the world, control over all major digital services, a secret service that knows when you last have pooped AND have enough force for a literal occupation already on your territory... well... things get more complicated

We have nukes. We can set them off should they invade. Better nuclear war than fascist rule.

Well, here we differ: I will happily live under a fascist ruler if the alternative is dying in (nuclear-) fire.

I suspect this is something you learn if you grow older, have family... and have witnessed actual combat...

Mate. Fascists put everyone they hate in camps and torture them to death. Better nuclear war as that is quick and relatively painless.

We need to elect politicians willing to take a hard line against the US.

Once they've finished with these groups they'll move on to other groups and continue whittling down their ingroup until there is no one left.

Also nice job showing that minority groups are an acceptable price to pay for your cowardice.

Well, it worked out pretty well for my grandparents, so I am not that concerned

This would also apply for anybody born in the "developed world" if you think a bit about it

That's cause the Nazis were defeated.

Well, my grandfather on my mothers side was an SA man, rolled with the things life put in his way, brought his family good through the war and into the post war period. Grandfather on my dad's side was a soldier, spend some time at the end of the war in captivity, but also turned out OK.

The lesson learned: Its better to roll with the things to come instead of fighting what is inevitable

Dafuq? Nothing inevitable about fascism. Also, you're example is worse than being a surrender monkey, it's being actively involved in the crimes of the regime.
