Like yeah, sure, they found a lot of somewhat leftist mostly green movement things within the EU but that's just PR. The GDPR considers "me making a lot of money" to be a valid reason to go start selling peoples data

Maybe. They clearly want to in Denmark and Germany though. And France does good work too.
