While i agree that women get the short end of the stick religion is also a tool to control the male part of the population. Everyone is made to fit their (more or less shitty) role.
What i want to say is: Women AND Men will be the winner if religion dies. -

I totally hate the idea of being a husband, a provider for the family, of the societal push to be successful and rich enough or else you won't be a good father and husband. I don't want to be fully responsible for any wife. All of this so I can nurture children so they work tirelessly. More flesh for the sweatshops and warehouses. Please give me a break.

Edit: okay, I've thought about it. It's absurd, but at least conceivable, that you could have a listserv Jewish Employees Working in WTC or whatever. Fine. But that's not enough! You also have to be sure no visitors, meeting attendees, etc...from all over the world are Jewish. So you expect me to believe that for an entire day, there were zero Jewish people in business meetings. I mean, COME ON! I just don't get antisemitism.

womenothers.The men are happy to be stepped on by the leaders, if they have somebody else to step on in turn.
And sadly, religion is just one of many tools to be used this way.

I had a fantastic co-worker who believed the same. He is Palestinian, although his family fled to Jordan in his childhood. Most people who would say such a thing I would have nothing more to do with. But it's like, eh, he kinda gets a pass.
