Dan Quayle was pretty fucking useless.
Him being the reason Pence went against Trump on January 6 was a hell of a redemption arc, though.

Not sure if I'm being whooshed here... but Reagan's VP went on to become president, whose son also became president after his other son, who was governor of a state, threw a wrench in that state's election machine to muddy the waters, leading to contested recounts, interrupted by a "mob," leading to the Supreme Court saying it's too dangerous to continue, and awarding said state's electoral votes to Reagan's VP's son, effectively handing him the presidency. The American people got two wars out of the deal and a veritable Who's Who list of Bush family associates whose names keep popping up suspiciously even to the present day.
Unless you're saying that Vance is just as knee-deep in the backstage corruption, in which case I agree, he's a dangerous slimeball.

When we talk about the Reagan era, we talk about Reagan and all of the horrible shit he is responsible for. We gloss over that his VP was GHWB Sr, who went on to cause even more damage, and then beget two sons that have caused EVEN MORE DAMAGE.
We all like to make light of Vance, but we shouldn't. We should take every single one of these fucks seriously because they will, at the drop of a hat, destroy the world with their fucked up ideals. If, and when, we ever start to hold these cunts accountable for all of the horrors they've committed, we can't overlook some of them just because we thought they spent 4 years balls deep in an Eames catalog.
