      .... they can switch to stating it as a genocide

      then repeat it over and over and over again ... just blast it everywhere all the time until the word just loses any meaning at all

          The difference between calling out misdeeds, and doing something about it.

          Globally, we’re well past the former having any meaningful impact.

            Obvious? You ignore the definition.

            For starters Genocide is killing of people, targeted by ethnicity. Do you think that Israel are such bad shots that they can only manage to kill 2½% of Gazans (⅓ of them militants) while ⅔ of Jews were killed in the Holocaust?

            ProPals like Ireland are trying to change the legal definition of genocide in order to make the false equivalence.

              Meanwhile...

              The death toll in Sudan's ongoing civil war is estimated to be significantly higher than previously reported, with studies suggesting that over 150,000 people may have died since the conflict began in April 2023. The majority of these deaths are attributed to violence, preventable diseases, and starvation, particularly affecting vulnerable populations in regions like Khartoum and Darfur.

              https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crln9lk51dro

              Doesn't get as much attention because why? Muslim on Muslim? Brown on Brown? And yet it involves (unlike Gaza) systemic targeting of civilians based on ethnicity.

                1 - Genocide is not only aimed on ethnic groups only
                2 - The legal definition of genocide do not say that the population need to decrease to be considered a genocide
                3 - Israel is lying about the number of Hamas fighter casualty and hamas estimation are undercounted

                The real legal definition of genocide according to the UN

                Genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

                1. Killing members of the group;
                2. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
                3. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
                4. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
                5. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

                One of Israel’s own ministers, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, literally said, “no electricity, no food, no fuel” would be allowed into Gaza. And that wasn’t just words—according to the UN, for over 2 months barely any aid entered northern Gaza, leaving tens of thousands of people without food, water, or medicine.

                Also, Netanyahu publicly referenced the biblical story of Amalek—basically calling for total destruction. Then you had soldiers on the ground yelling “Amalek” while attacking Gaza. Human rights groups have pointed out that this kind of language, combined with how civilians are being targeted, fits patterns seen in genocides.

                Both of those example show without a single doubt that Israel is causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group and deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part with clear intent

                      Those points do not apply because there is no targeting.

                      UN clarifies that, in genocide, victims are targeted because of their real or perceived membership of a group, not randomly.

                      Why do you think Ireland is trying to expand the definition?

                      The Gallant quote is from 2 days after the October 7 attack.

                        Go educate your self instead of embarassing yourself.

                        Occupation is not just having soldiers in the land.
                        Control over borders, airspace, and territorial waters, as well as its population registry, and movement of goods and people is also occupation like israel do in gaza

                        All the UN report consider gaza and the west bank occupied

                            Yes, 1/3 of the population which is half under the age of 14 are fucking hamas militants. 1/3 of the people in every apartment building they blow up¹ are terrorists. You tell that damn literal mecha-hitler antisemite you're replying to! You tell him or her² good!

                            Genocidal monsters like the entire nation of ireland are trying to use a definition of genocide proposed by famously ignorant antisemite rafael lemkin, and we should not let them defile our laws with his blatantly antisemitic propaganda! Stand strong, brother!

                            ¹to make the idf look bad, they blow up their own buildings with people inside, they're absolute monsters. I know you know this, but our more ignorant readers may not.

                            ²but not them, because recognizing singular they in english would be gay, and gay is weak and dilutes the pure blood of the hebrew master race. Obviously.

                              Well that just sounds like laziness to me. Can you not do two morally compromising things at once, like gaslight an abused child and sell homeopathic cures outside an oncology ward?

                                    They already have all evidence needed and still slow the say for a fact what we already know for sure.

                                    It took it 12 years after the bostnian genocide as a genocice to declared it as such.

                                      Well that just sounds like laziness to me. Can you not do two morally compromising things at once, like gaslight an abused child and sell homeopathic cures outside an oncology ward?

                                        Sorry were you trying to say bosnian or bostonian there? It has been much longer than 12 years since the Bostonian genocide.

                                          Its perfectly possible to disingenuously care about one group while denying wrongs done to another! Standard, even!
