I don't want any crass, but I feel like commercials are brain rapee, brainwashing.

    This should need your permission.

That's all it is. It's pure and simple. It's brainwashing. How many times you have to see a coke commercial. You know coke exists. If you want to get it, you'll get it. How many times you have to see McDonald's commercial. If you eat that crap, you know it exists. Go eat it.

They spent that money that they were not advertising on either making the product better or or on their employees, Our lives will be much better.

I've generally stayed away from commercials since approximately 2007.

I cringe when I hear one or see one now. It's so ridiculous and over the top.

One caught me by surprise yesterday when I was watching a video in Cognito mode about Capital One.

Oh, please use our credit card. You can help your daughter become better at hockey and you can attend her games. Please use our credit card.

Simply pulling at your emotions. Say you're a middle class family and you can't afford to go to the game sometimes, but oh, you can put it on your credit card and be a better dad

    Fuck you city bank.

I'm lovin' it. You're having it your way, and where's the beef? You're everywhere you want to be.

      But what's in your wallet?

I feel like advertisers and capitalism are so gross, they've poisoned the whole concept.

I don't think there's anything innately wrong or violent to put up a flyer that says like "I'm starting a frisbee club. We're meeting Saturdays at Noon in the park". That's an ad. But it's a whole other beast from ads that track you. Or ads that try to make you feel insecure or inadequate.

You know where capitalism should be applied? Immigration.

We should be having governments tripping over themselves to bring people into their country semi-permanently.

I think, in an ironic twist, we'd all be living in socialist utopias.

Not like, Trump's gold card. I mean like actually trying to attract and retain talent the same way employers do. High quality affordable healthcare. Paid time off. Work/life balance. Exceptional pay.

Leaving your country for another should be no different than switching employers and moving to your new job. Relocation stipends and all.

That's simply informational. Ads that try to actively get your attention to change your mind and get you to do something, that's what's evil. It's brainwashing, pure and simple. Plus they're a waste of valuable time.

yep, and the benefits should be well advertised and guaranteed.
