Old job we had management that were such wussies a coworker would do arts and crafts at her desk all the time. Manager would then ask me to do her tasks when the deadline came near. I refused. This went on for a couple years.

We were having a meeting and our boss was bringing up on-call schedules, and how the new policy was going to be much stricter, as well as a three missed calls and you're fired deal.

In the middle of his talk, my coworker loudly announces 'excuse me' as he reaches down to his bag, pulls out a glock, lowers the slide to make sure its loaded, then places it back in his bag. Then with a lot of enthusiasm, waves his hand saying 'Please, continue.'

Our boss said something like "I'm sensing some push back on this so we're going to rethink it before we go further." The changes never materialized.

In fairness we had all a bit to drink so this was pretty hilarious at the time, but in retrospect it was a pretty fucked up joke.

I'm calling bullshit on this, sorry OP. That just sounds ridiculous. I'm not buying it.

Did you mean to say the coworker made a gun cocking sound and pretended like he had a gun? While still fucked up, it's at least a lot more believable vs. him having an actual gun like that.

Nah it was his concealed carry glock. Officially he wasn't supposed to have it with him at the office but unofficially no one really cared unless clients were around.

I mean, it could technically be valid, if someone had a medical emergency involving it, though it might not be the best phrasing.

According to Serengeti, it is entirely possible for a dong to hurt enough that it affects one's ability to walk. I've never experienced this, but I trust Serengeti, so I'm gonna say.....valid!

Super busy dive bar. Not the kind of place you'd order a fancy cocktail on a slow night let alone a packed weekend. Customer asks for some particularly complicated drink when the bar is slammed. Bartender tells her that there a lot of people waiting behind her and asks if she'd please order some simple. Customer insists. Bartender pleads. Customer insists. Bartender relents, pulls out all the tools, gathers the ingredients, preps the glass, etc, etc. Pours the ingredients into the shaker. Spits in the shaker directly in font of the customer. Shakes up the drink, strains it in the glass and says, "that'll be twelve dollars please "

Got drunk and hooked up with a married customer during an event. He said he didn’t know the customer was married (no wedding ring). It was my first job out of college and I learned from the sales team that it’s widely known at these events that people “forget” their wedding rings for this exact reason. I guess he wasn’t fired because it was consensual, but weird because customer and her husband were running a family business so technically both of them were our customers.

I used to work for one of the big chain pizza joints. On my 21st birthday my boss and a coworker wanted to take me for a beer. They take me to a bar on the edge of town. We are there for about ten minutes when one of our delivery drivers walk-in and orders a drink. We are at the other end of the bar and wait for him to take a drink, then we all say “Hey Bob!”. Bob looks down the bar and says “hey guys what’s up?” We explained why we were there and then asked why he was since he was on the clock. This was before cellphones were in everyone’s pocket and Bob “couldn’t find” his delivery so he had to stop SOMEWHERE for a pay phone, the beer was just a bonus. Bob had worked there for over 20 years and I guess the boss just didn’t care.

Bob also called into work sick one day and when asked what was wrong he said “My dick hurts” and hung up the phone.

Guy on the night shift was watching porn on his computer. When it was shown to management, they said, “how do you know it was him?” So we set up a webcam and showed them video of him watching porn. Still didn’t get fired. A little while later, one of the cleaning ladies was shocked when the elevator opened to see this guy getting a BJ. Still wasn’t fired. In fact, a few months later, he won Employee of the Month! That was a messed up place to work.

Implement a critical vulnerability, have it be pointed out, insist it isn't their responsibility, refuse to fix it.

I once saw a project team migrate a set of databases connected to thousands of systems so haphazardly that it caused probably tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in wasted time fixing all the problems they left behind for years after, and the people responsible turned the "successful migration" into a promotion and avoided any of the work they left behind. Nobody fired, just financial problems down the road because of all the extra unplanned support costs.

There was a guy that was the owner's favorite at a place I worked years ago. Among all the other shit he would regularly get away with, one time he wrote all over the door to another employee's office with a highlighter. Since that shit's permanent, the door had to be repainted. This guy owns the company now.

I would never spit in someone's drink. I'd spray them with the soda gun instead.

Loading a centrifuge with 24 positions only on positions 1-8

Also in general so much non SOP and GLP stuff, sloppy work, and constantly needing 11-13 hours a day to get stuff done. Like, I actually see why - they talked and snacked and talked. It wasn't 13 hours of work, it was about 5. But still - how on earth did the supervisor, who has to make sure no one works more than 9 hours a day tops (we're clocking), not notice there is something wrong here? You're clocking an insane amount of time, you work slow and you don't get everything assigned to you done. There is an imbalance from both sides and it was so obvious and no one did anything. Both sides should be fired honestly.
