Reporting is definitely a lost art. No information in the article about why she is even suspected. Based on this article she seems more likely to be a scapegoat for a statistical anomaly and bereaved parents lashing out.

It sounds like those doctors's opinions may not be enough to overturn to conviction. I thought it also said that their assessment was pretty much over one specific area regarding where air was injected and it's not encompassing all of the evidence presented in the case. Too me it sounds like a weak argument, but that's based solely on this article with minimal background information.

Whether nurse Letby was responsible or not, the hospital allowed the deaths to continue, despite multiple nurses and doctors bringing their concerns to management.

That was my concern initially but there's way more evidence against her than the article shows including huge amounts of Facebook searches and souvenirs regarding victims discussed here or how she was repeatedly not credible on the stand. You can see the quantity here. The statistics isn't as simple for example sudden spike in deaths and clusters of episodes or the pattern following her to days see here. Even if she was innocent, she should have been removed before, and the deaths not covered up by bosses.
