Ashamed American here and I assume your comment was in French, and those are the only two things I have even the vaguest clue how to pronounce in French (but I had to look up the spelling!)
Funny enough, as you suggested, I popped your text into a translator after typing out the above and using my limited second language knowledge, and it turns out, I managed to get the general gist of it without the help of a translator!

Interesting meme. tbf, I don't even know what a true world instance/feed would even look like. Is it possible??? Would we just have a single instance where you can choose a language option (wrapper/client type of deal) and it would layer in such a way that would translate flawlessly betwixt user post / reader / commentator??? Sounds interesting
Or you just force everyone to get down and dirty and grind anki until they learn every language

We do, it is just that Americans flood even country-specific subs to make it about them.
We know your country sucks, you don't have to remind us every time we open the internet.
That you say "your country" immediately reveals your own bias to assume that everything you see is American.
You probably think everyone posting is male as well.
Even I think both of these things despite being a canadian woman.

It makes me laugh when Europeans makes these comments. If you want to see more European centric content... post it. Its free to do.
People write as though Americans need to stop interacting with the platform, when the solution is really to increase European engagement, which falls on them to do.

I never downvote Canada/Europe posts and I'm always happy to see the German memes materialize to take over the front page at like 3:00pm even though I don't understand 95% of the content on ich_iel. I do kinda wish there was a larger international community on Lemmy.world.
