I've never seen a hedgehog walk like that. They always walk with their snout to the ground, like a dog sniffing a trail.

It was only a couple of years ago that I learned hedgehogs run wild in Britain. I'm 54. No idea where I thought they came from. Spontaneous generation in American pet shops?

I think that's because they are sniffing for bugs? As opposed to this picture, where she has to keep her head high so the baby doesn't just drag on the ground.

Huh? Hedgehogs are native to Europe, Africa and Asia. They are not native to the Americas.

I used to have a couple of hedgehogs as pets when I was younger and when I got my own place I decided to just let them run free in my apartment. It was so amazing to be chilling on the couch, watching TV and then a hedgehog scurries past.

I'm not generally for invasive species, but when I see huge murmurations of starlings this time of year I have a hard time being mad at them... I think I'd feel the same way if hedgehogs were introduced in the US.

I have one living somewhere around the corner of my building here in Sweden. Though the population is shrinking sadly. They're very cute.

Hedgehogs belong to the order Eulipotyphla, which includes shrews and moles, while rodents are in the order Rodentia and are characterized by their perpetually growing incisors.

Funny because I would have called a mole a rodent.
