Yes, but the Irish part of the company does business in the EU, while the American part does business in the US. For example, Google Ireland isn't exporting phones to the US. They're made in Taiwan (or wherever) and imported to the US by Google America.

That’s a small part of it. Digital sales from google play, App Store, etc are another huge factor. Just look into the Irish loophole.

Visited Ireland last year. Fantastic country. Drove around the whole island on a 10-day road trip. Would definitely do it again, and it's sad this orange shit stain will make life harder for my Irish brothers and sisters. I hope the people of Ireland find another outlet. America is trash and it doesn't deserve you.

I have no expertise, but I'm guessing that the world will adjust faster than expected and just start trading more with each-other and leave the US to rot on it's own.

Ireland is expected to be one of the most affected countries when President Trump announces a new round of tariffs later this week.

EU goods are expected to face a tariff of about 20% when entering the United States.

Among EU countries, Ireland is the most reliant on the US as an export market.

In 2024, Irish goods exports to the US were worth €73bn (£61bn), almost a third of the country's total exports.

Tough decisions await all the Trump supporters that just spent the last month cosplaying as Irish for St. Patrick’s Day.

JK - The cult will overrule the ancestral homeland.

the exporter need not be based in the origin ('tariffed') country to have their goods taxed on import.

funneling profits to overseas subsidiaries to lower a corporation's overall tax burden is a different issue.

The challenge is usually repatriating this funds back to the "home" country. However, many multinationals have been quite happy leaving the profits outside of the "home" country for additional foreign investment in those regions.

Our other trade partner also went batshit about 10 years ago and made it a lot more difficult to trade with them.

Life's lonely as a relatively norma neutrall northern-hemisphere anglophone state.

Maybe they shouldn't have been offering <2% tax rates to corporations? Ireland's 'Fuck you I got mine' tax laws are a net detriment to the rest of the world, it takes away tax dollars from other countries that could have been used for public services.

                It's theft.

America here. We despise the orange man. His disapproval rating here is almost 70%.

Please don't lump all of us in together. You have to realize that a lot of our states have the same population as whole countries in the EU. Voters from the uneducated red states can sway the vote for all. It's like if votes from Russia counted toward your elected officials. It sucks!

But I promise you that half of the United States hate how this is going. Also when you say America, you're lumping in other countries. I'm sure Canada does not want to be grouped with us. lol

When you have democrats in power you guys seem to also enjoy destroying the rest of the world. Trump is a large part of the worlds rage against the US right now, but understand that you guys have been fucking the rest of us for a long time and we are not stoked about it.

Fascism in action. Ireland is being attacked for actively resisting genocide... Same with South Africa, Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, etc, etc, etc.

Oh trust us we hate a lot of the democratic leadership too. First past the post and the electoral college are a blight on democracy.
