Is there an actor you can't stand? Do they have any exceptions?

I absolutely agree with you about Stranger Than Fiction. Mine would be Adam Sandler, do not like that style of comedy. The only exception is Punch Drunk Love. One of my favourite movies! Also Jim Carey, except for Yes Men.
I loved Jim Carey in The Majestic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Truman Show.

I have two.
I do not like Will Ferrell in his typical roles at all and I’m glad I’m not the only one saying this anymore. Everyone quotes Anchorman and I just did not enjoy that at all, or Elf, Step Brothers, or any of his “everyone loves” movies. Stranger Than Fiction, however, was amazing and I wish he would do more roles like that.
Tom Cruise is my other one. I find his acting very bland and unappealing. Mission Impossible has put me to sleep every time I try to watch it. I am not a big fan of Top Gun, Jerry Maguire, or any of them. My Cruise exceptions are Tropic Thunder which I wish he did more comedic roles like that and Minority Report, not a perfect movie but it was the very first DVD I ever owned so there is a bit of nostalgia tied to it.
I agree tom cruise makes me sleepy, I did love edge of tomorrow, but id fall asleep to it a lot lol

For example, I don't like Will Ferrell in his typical roles. Oh they just drive me batty.
But. I do love Stranger Than Fiction. It's such a cozy movie.
Ryan Reynolds. The exception would be Waiting. I’m just so over him and his one dimensional acting.

I came here to say Will Ferrell with the same exception, then read your post.
Stranger Than Fiction shows Will Ferrell is perfectly capable of being a good actor playing interesting roles, but chooses to just play low effort trash.

That's because he isn't acting. Somewhere along the line he stopped being the actor known as Ryan Reynolds and just became the character Ryan Reynolds.

Jared Leto, too bad he is in the Tron: Ares which I'm almost looking forward to watch simply because of nine inch nails...

Walton Goggins and Will Arnett. I dunno why, I don't like their acting and they look creepy to me.
I like watching Walton Goggins in some roles, but the man himself gives me the stranger danger willies in interviews, etc.

Jeremy Renner.
Has he ever actually been good in anything (besides the Jeremy Renner app and his legendary rock and roll music)?

I loved Jim Carey in The Majestic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Truman Show.
What about "I love you Philip Morris?" definitely worth watching
-
Jared Leto. No exceptions.
I've hated that fucking guy since the days of My So Called Life.
-
Requiem for a Dream, though.
Aronofsky movies are hit and miss with me. They can be brilliant like Black Swan or melodramatic nonsense that mistakes dour abjection and misery with plot. I'd rather go with Trainspotting if I want the "drug addict's hell-ride" story. It comes up to breathe every so often with some levity and heart.

Ben Stiller. I just can't get into anything he's in. He's just reading lines, nepo-baby for sure.
Exceptions: dodgeball, and tropic thunder, holy FUCK is he funny in tropic thunder

Jessie eisenberg. He only plays jessie Eisenberg. I hate his whiny delivery. The “Now you see me” movies were awful, and he ruined Lex Luthor.
I can’t think of anything he’s been in that I’ve thought was good.
(Nicholas hoult as LL looks great though)

He has a daughter with an ex (DNA confirmed) but since he hates the ex he refuses to meet the girl (she is like 6yo). There was a video doc about this and the poor little girl looks like him and it's super cute.
He pays child support but refuses to acknowledge her existence and if a reporter asks he refuses to answer.Any man that denies his own child is a horrible person.
That's sad. I'm a single dad who has maybe shouldered more than my share, to put it a little mildly, so it resonates. The optimist in me hopes there's more to the story or that the kid is an unredeemable psychopath.

My wife laothes Tom Cruise. Hard stop. No exceptions. I don't have any problems with him as an actor, the Scientology insanity is a whole other matter.
...maybe one exception: I was able to talk her into seeing Edge of Tomorrow by telling her that he dies 26 times on-screen and countless times off-screen.

I apologise if this seems inappropriate, but I kinda like your wife now. And you for putting that argument up in the first place.

Zombieland
Social Network
Though both those were good despite him

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Although I wouldn't call him an actor. So I'm not sure if I answered the question.
He was the highest paid actor a couple years ago so unfortunately I think we have to count him as an actor. He wasn't getting paid nearly as much in the WWE I don't think. He's nearing billionaire status. If he does barely anything he should probably hit it in the next 2-3 years.

Tom Cruise. No exceptions. Even when I don't realize it's him in a role (which was basically limited to his role in Tropic Thunder), his performances still irritate me.
Not a Cruise fan myself, or NASCAR, but I do like Days of Thunder.
Also staring Nicole Kidman, Micheal Rooker, and Robert Duvall.

I'm NGL, I've only watched Requiem twice, the first time for a school project! Maybe it isn't as interesting as I feel it was. On the other hand, Pi is one of my favourite films and the one I rank highest in his filmography, maybe give it a try?

tropic thunder made tom cruise funny. that's how funny it was.
