Most likely I'd be drinking some Talisker Port Ruighe whiskey while listening from The Division Bell by Pink Floyd

Cheap beer, whatever beer is cheaper than water.

Which raises the question, why is beer cheaper than water?

The stereo is usually just running in my head, I've spent many months sorting through over 26,000 archived MP3s and basically memorized all the music I like.

Water you have to piss in before it gets that signature cheap beer flavor, the beer comes premade!

A pepperoni pizza and ice tea since I don't drink. And on the stereo I'd have lofi playing while I mellow out

Some kind of interesting seltzer, some excellent crumbly cheddar, nice summer fruit like blackberries and peaches. Listening to something intriguing and instrumental. Maybe Matthew Shipp, maybe Tyshawn Sorey, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, John Zorn, others.

Chana is so good, nice call! And with a beer, chefs kiss. I totally agree on the death metal, that's what I usually play when my husband's out so he doesn't have to tolerate it.

I also make (and sometimes eat) too many pancakes, so we have that in common as well.

Last night I made too much chana! The recipe said "feeds four" so I doubled it. Good thing it turn out perfect because even after feeding the whole fam we still had half a gallon leftover.

To drink: Beer if I've had a long and tiresome day. I like malty dark beers best, like stout or heather ale, but on a hot day a wheat beer is pleasantly refreshing. If I'm already in a good mood and want to really take the time to savour something, whisky (Scottish or Japanese ideally, not generally keen on Irish or American but will give things a shot). Gins and red wines are welcome. If it's earlier in the day or I don't want alcohol, I am a big fan of slowly working my way through a cafetiere of coffee

To eat: I love stuffed green olives as a snack, but when blackberries or redcurrants are in season I will grab those instead a lot of the time. Nice bread and balsamic is a strong choice too

To listen to: Very mood dependent, as music often is. Old blues standards are fantastic to really relax with. Power, black, or prog metal are great when I want to devote more attention to the music and get absorbed in the energy. Scottish and Irish folk music and adjacent rock/pop stuff is where I go for daydreaming and creativity. Jazz, other types of folk music, post-rock, and 90s/00s alt rock might be where I wander sometimes

Talisker make reliably solid stuff, but I don't think I've ever had the Port Ruighe. What's it like?

KEXP radio, lemongrass kombucha and BBQ'ed coalho cheese (kind of like cheese curds... but different, it's a Brazilian thing).

The radio I found out about it today, despite playing a plethora of different styles, I'm quite impressed how the curation is of excellent quality.

Sounds like a lovely time! I've never heard of Arvo Pärt but I'm at least familiar with the other two haha

It's Talisker finished in Port casks. No age statement, but it's very good whisky!

A craft lager, smoked gouda, tomato, lettuce with some mayo on homemade white bread, I'll start with Arvo Pärt's Spiegel im Spiegel, then a couple random Leonard Cohen, and then finish with a few tracks from Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti.

I don't know if I have a favorite consumable. Let's see, if a drink, it could be tonic water or some homemade lemonade with tonic, or it could be bubble tea, or it could be fireball or botrytis if I'm feeling like something alcoholic.

Foods might be chocolate, ice cream, chips, cake, prosciutto, olives, blue cheese and crackers

Drugs would be mushrooms but I wouldn't consider that a relaxation companion.

I don't think I put anything on my stereo if I want to relax. Like if I did, I wouldn't have the food or drinks. I get easily overwhelmed like that. Scrap the food and drink and put carbon based lifeforms
