Get ready to lose again, assholes.

Vietnam was not lost, it was abandoned.
We retreated after taking massive losses and accomplishing none of our strategic objectives, unless you consider sending a generation of youth, poisoning the land for generations, and committing countless atrocities to be the real objectives, rather than the stated goal of preventing Vietnam, a country that is still communist to this day, from becoming communist?

"Terror". The US loves waging unwinnable wars against inanimate objects (drugs) and feelings (terror) lol totally irrational.

And prison slavery is legal. Guess who will be working the farms
Edit: it's legal.
Prison slavery is technically illegal, but they are paid incredibly meager wages to where it's essentially legal slavery.

Lol, lmao even

The war was not lost there, it was pretty quickly won. The reconstruction was lost.
I‘d say it was a very long fought war against the Taliban, who managed to survive and eventually won since they are in charge now.

I meant to say prison slavery is legal

So true bestie.
Unrelated, but the other day, someone cornered me in an alley with a gun and demanded I hand over my wallet - but I didn't lose to them! I simply put my hands up and abandoned my wallet, very different.

Does Vicky think Russia is losing the war?

I know it's going to hurt when lemmy tries to smack the liberal out of you but we will still love you in the end

Does Vicky think Russia is losing the war?
It is kind of a weird take when Russia has captured quite a bit of land. Sure, it's costing them a lot (you might even say in inordinate sum), but characterizing them as losing is a hard sell.
-
The point is that the military will sit it out since they can't be deployed domestically
Why not? Trump just deployed them to LA and got away with it. He could do it again. The courts have proven about a dozen times since the election that they will not hold him accountable for blatant constitutional violations. Half of congress is on his side so they will never hold him accountable either. There's nobody left to stop him from doing whatever he wants.

They certainly haven't won

In what universe did they lose the war on drugs? Marijuana never got rescheduled. People still get their lives ruined over it. It's impossible to consume cannabis and be gainfully employed at the same time in the US and a sickening majority of people STILL believe this is how things should be. Corporations collude together to make sure they're all using the exact same drug testing procedures so that really valuable people can't just decide to go somewhere that treats them better. Yet they do nothing to fight with or systematically harm people who consume alcohol when off duty or come into work hungover.
All the states with lower costs of living are still allowed to put people in jail for possession. And people fight to keep it this way. They made Florida ballot initiatives need a 60% to pass just to defeat the recent marijuana amendment and NO ONE FUCKING CARED. This is far from "losing" the war on drugs.

I guess I'm going to have to tell all the people at my company and my friends' workplaces that they can't be gainfully employed while they use weed as their primary or (increasingly often) only intoxicant.

The drugs are still here. More than never before. Doesn't matter if the war is still raging. They aren't going away.

They are losing right now...they can't actually replace the airplanes and other resources, due to their economy slowly crashing.
So that will be their undoing. Dad is going to get a reality check soon (=

Maybe we should coin a new term: blue state privilege. Some people need to be reminded that just because it's legal in your state, and your company doesn't test for it, the majority of states still don't have recreational use and the companies there still test for it. Crazy how in the land of the free, the privileged ones living in the highest cost of living states which also happen to be liberal can smoke it freely while the rest of us get a criminal record and/or fired.
