No words

Is it [Seinfeld’s comments] even close to publicly supporting a genocide? Hell no.
wrote last edited by [email protected]It looks to me like what they're referring to is Michael Richards tirade being uncomparable to Jerry's comments that were supporting the genocide. That's how I read it, anyway.
But I mean he (Richards) was talking about lynching the guy at the Laugh Factory, so even as far as racism goes, that's pretty fucking up there.

Okay, I suppose I was too vague.
Is it [Richard’s comments] even close to [ being as bad as] publicly supporting a genocide? Hell no.
I'm saying Richards may be a better person than Seinfeld, but I wouldn't excuse his words or actions because they're not something a non-racist would ever even think to do or say.
Hope that is clear now.

It's aways nice to see reading comprehension out in the wild.

That’s what I’m saying too. Seinfeld’s comments were made in a more calm matter, but were way way way worse than Richards’.

I don’t recall the lynching comments, only the several utterances of the n word, but I could be wrong. In either case it was vile and cannot be excused. What’s more telling to me is his behavior since; he was immediately apologetic and he has remained so for 20 years

And I’m not trying to excuse the words or his behavior on stage. Only trying to acknowledge his behavior since the day after the incident and for the last 20 years as steadfastly apologetic. His words were wrong, and importantly he thinks so too.

You could just enjoy the movie regardless of what one actor might think?
Is that how it works for you? The Thriller album is still a bop for me but I'd never call it an uncomplicated enjoyment. Just an example.

Want to point out Seinfeld is currently on tour and basically trying to get free press to sell tickets.
He doesn’t care about anything but his shit ton of money. Fuck him.
His money and underage women

seriously what is the deal with dumb celebrities?
Rich enough to outrun consequences.

I know Seinfeld is just a piece of shit, but...
Isn't Patinkin saying as much because he sees the genocide being committed in Gaza and thinks that it will hurt Jewish people worldwide to have such a heinous crime hanging over their shared culture? That he's rightfully worried that the world will turn on Jewish people worldwide after seeing the horrors of what Netanyahu has done in Gaza?
A quote from Patinkin:
"How could it be done to you and your ancestors, and you turn around and do it to someone else?"
Huh, sounds like he understand the situation pretty well and isn't peddling total bullshit like Seinfeld.
Yeah, I watched him speak on the subject, in a similar clip, he ends up screaming about the atrocities being done and how truly awful it is.

wrote last edited by [email protected]It sounds like he is making an argument to the people committing the genocide and supporting it to show them why it is in their best interest not to do it. Using moral arguments with some people and groups is a waste of time.
They already Trust the people convincing them to do it.

No. Not on this.
Seinfeld used to be my favorite show alongside the simpsons. Luckily Larry David has not come out of the closet as a total piece of shit. He was the one that wrote almost the entire Seinfeld series.

I think it's important to watch the clip that this headline of Mandy Patinkin is referencing to be able to appreciate the fuller context of this meme. Unfortunately, this meme is vague enough to confuse people comparing what Seinfeld said with what Patinkin said. Patkin also does an amazing throw back to Princess Bride to make his point too! https://youtu.be/dFjOb9DGS1w

This is the context I came to the comments for. Thank you. I knew Mandy was a solid human.

Well you see, when you're insulated from horrors, you might not be aware that they are horrors.
Like how vaccines have insulated most of us from the horrors of disease, and consequently there are a shit-ton of people who don't take disease precautions seriously. Just had a guy at the hardware store give me a dirty look, presumably because I was masking.

You can have good and bad people, for sure. I don't see why those categories couldn't each include any/every religion.

Good Jew: Jesus, from Nazareth.
Bad Jew: Jared, from Subway.

wrote last edited by [email protected]Wow, that's just fucking dishonest for people to twist what he actually mean. Just because his perspective didn't start from the people of gaza doesn't mean he didn't think the situation is fucked up and the israel government is fucking evil. People who twist his words have the ulterior motive of wanting the eradication of Israel.
Edit: on second thought, the pic above doesn't claim patinkin don't care about the palestinians, but they word it in a way it feels like he just care about the israeli.

I have words. Jerry is a piece of shit. Mandy is a treasure.
hes the guy that left criminal MINDS show, because it became too glorified for violence.

I just love Mandy for that shrillness he allows into his voice at the end. He’s passionate about this.

I never saw the appeal of Seinfeld. Joseph Goebbels was just a little bit funnier.
goebbels seinfled.
