Maybe this will be a new point of evolution and our eye shapes will change in a new (not better) way were we see worse... Who knows.... I don't know what I'm talking about . ✌️

That's not really how evolution works, but who knows!

I also think it's supposed to be Nearsighted not shortsighted. But I'm just a stupid American! LOL

          This is old science.

Increased time outdoors is correlated with a lower risk of myopia. It's no surprise that more screen time = less time spent outdoors

Or to be less alarmist and 'but everything after I was a kid is bad'

Putting kids in environments where they only ave to focus on things up close ruins distance vision.

More likely a lack of sun exposure

I thought it was a myth and that genetics is the most contributing factor ?

I think part of it is sun exposure, my eyesight is much worse than my close relatives, and I was born in Iceland which has much weaker sunlight.

and depending on where they hang out on the internet, figurative myopia too!

But yeah, staring at a close distance for long periods of time tends to lead to nearsightedness in general. However, I've got myopia but not as bad as my siblings who spent less time in front of the screen growing up. Genetics plays a role too, among other factors.

Grew up on computers, can confirm, decades later vision is a fuck.

Fortunately, milliseconds, no matter the quantity, have no effect.
