What are your favorite Switch exclusives?
-
I'm including anything only available on other Nintendo systems as exclusive for this.
I've got a $50 eShop card I figure I should spend before gold points go away.
I have BotW. It was alright, but it didn't excite me enough to get TotK unless it's on a deep discount.
I've also already got Mario Odyssey and Metroid Prime Remastered. I have a handful of other games but they're not Switch exclusive afaik.
I'm mostly using my Steam deck for handheld these days, so I'd rather not get anything non-exclusive on the Switch right now.

No, but it looks like there's a demo I can try.

Golf Story is always a good time. It was one of those games I bought on a whim and fell in love with. Top down golf based RPG with a lot of humor and good pixel art. Have Yuzu on my Deck mainly to go back to Golf Story every once in a while.
They made a sequel called Sports Story that wasn’t nearly as fun.

Mario vs Rabbids surprised me with how good it was. Mario Kart 8 with the expansion pass is great, especially if you have friends to play with.

I'd say Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, but seems like that's not what you're looking for.
The Paper Mario: TTYD remake is very good. Or Animal Crossing, if you're looking for something relaxing.
For party games, Mario Kart 8 is always fun. And of course Smash Bros Ultimate if you like that series.

I'm still waiting for Prime 4

Cadence of Hyrule - The original Crypt of the Necrodancer is one of my all-time favorites. CoH doesn't quite reach that incredibly high bar, but it's still an excellent game in its own right.
-
Metroid Dread - Hits all the highs of Super, but with greatly improved combat and bosses. So yes, I am calling this better than Super, you heard me.
-
Puyo Puyo Champions - Technically, this is not exclusive. However, I am counting it as such because the online playerbase is dead on every other platform. If you want to play the greatest competitive puzzle game ever made, the Switch version of Champions is really the only option.
-
Splatoon 3 - It's Splatoon. It's the newest one. It's good.

I highly recommend the xenoblade series. 1,2, and 3 are on switch with a remake of X coming in a few months. All nintendo exclusive games well worth their cost (if you have time for a jrpg)
HOLY SHIT THEY ARE FINALLY REMAKING X???
Huge fan but I didn’t want to buy a Wii U for one game

Coming out on March 20, actually. Already pre-loaded the game!

TOTK makes BOTW look like a simple tech demo. I wasn't very whelmed with BOTW, either, but I am glad I checked out TOTK because it is, IMO, the best exclusive on the system.

Mario Party Jamboree also pretty cool for party game

Mario vs Rabbids is how you trick kids into playing XCOM, great game!

I’m a huge Metroid (Metroidvania in general fan, it’s pretty much the only genre I play these days) but for some reason Dread didn’t hit the spot for me. I got right to the very last boss fight but can’t say I enjoyed my time with it. The EMMI I found more infuriating than fun and it just felt like those sections killed my favourite part of these types of games which is wandering and exploring. I know you could go back after, but tanking it through areas to get to safety I found frustrating.
However, the movement is goddamn slick in Dread! Don’t think I have played another Metroidvania where it feels that good to traverse and move around the map. Prince of Persia comes close, but fully geared Samus in Dread is just an absolute joy

I do agree that TotK was a better game than BotW, though I can also see how someone who may not love the BotW model wouldn't be enamored with TotK either.
