TIL And it was first draw in the 50s! Wow. Well, I don't really follow old anime, so no wonder it's unknown to me.
This one had a fair bit of success in America, they had popular cartoon in the mornings in the late 80s/early 90s. I think it was my first exposure to anime.

They’re quite simple, small designs. I don’t feel ready to do bigger, more complex tattoos yet.
You know your limits better than anyone. I don't think I will take you long to get comfortable doing more complex ones. That is some nice work!

There was an animated movie in 2009 too (it bombed though) and more recently the Pluto anime which I haven't seen but is loosely based off of the manga iirc.
