Self-Driving Tesla Fails School Bus Test, Hitting Child-Size Dummies… Meanwhile, Robo-Taxis Hit the Road in 2 Weeks.

Live in San Francisco and I am impressed with the Waymos. There's a lot of four way stops and lots of pedestrians. They honestly drive better than most people. There's a lot of times too where a car pulls up alongside another row of cars paralleled parked on the street and turns on their emergency lights to make a delivery or something. Waymos somehow check other side of the road and proceed around these cars going into the other side of the street safely.
Dude, the waymos in LA were shockingly good drivers in my experience too!

In the USA, the regulations are made up and the points don't matter.
wrote on last edited by [email protected]In my city, we've had Waymo running for quite awhile, and there were definitely growing pains, but it seems to be doing alright, with no incidents I'm aware of in recent months. Tesla has announced their imminent entry into our market, and not only is their technology just blatantly not ready for prime time, but their business model is broken, because my city tilts progressive by a significant margin, and everyone here hates Elon Musk. There was even a previously success Tesla-only ride share operation run by a 3rd party that recently went out of business here. Tesla as a cab service is totally fucked financially, is my point, in addition to just being totally fucked

I can’t wait to get run over crossing the road. Hooray for no safety and hooray for death. I’ve never felt more at risk of random death.
Just look both ways? You're an adult you know this.
It's the children who will die.

And this is why Tesla is a danger to everyone INCLUDING the people who could actually be saved by real, well-tested, extremely safe autonomous vehicles like Waymo et al.
TESLA IS NOT AUTONOMOUS DRIVING
ACTUAL AUTONOMOUS DRIVING IS SAFER THAN HUMAN DRIVERS
Fuck fuck fuck I hate this timeline so much. We could be saving lives but NOOOOOO we get this bullshit instead

What are the odds that fsd recognizes musks face and prioritizes his survival over yours? Swerve right into that nearby tree!
Reminds me of xitter changing its algorithm to boost musk’s tweets when he took over.
Probably pretty high, but also there’s an equally high chance it was programmed with vibe coding and has the opposite effect

Tesla's FSD needs to be made illegal on the state level. Call your local state senator and alderman.

How are you getting hit everyday? Don’t just run across the road without looking everytime? That’s just fucking stupid.
It's a school bus test. Children are easily distracted and may run across the street. Doesn't mean that they deserve to die so Musk can sell poorly regulated cars

Did you even read the article? The test was done under conditions that were intended to cause an accident. It’s to prove a point that doesn’t reflect real life conditions most of the time. The newly relaxed regulations you’re talking about weren’t taking into account any of the critical overall implications they were having on restricting Tesla and its major shareholders from increasing their wealth in exchange for a few dead bodies. It’s a good trade just ask Elmo.

Also what makes cities absolute hell for combat makes them great for tossing a Molotov cocktail at random cars. Seriously there's no victim and unlike Waymo folks have already started burning Teslas.

The most aggravating part is that this egomaniac's bullshit is making the real autonomous vehicle market look bad.
