How many of you use Lemmy and ONLY use Lemmy vs Reddit?
-
I return to Reddit mostly to harvest memes to bring here, or to ask obscure questions that I don't think there's enough of an audience here to get a good answer (I'm still looking for the "The Swaggoraki are swarming!" pic, if any Warhammer meme fans can find it)
on top of these, any call to arms spreading the good word of the fediverse

Is anyone here so hardcore that they don't even bother with mainstream social media? If its not on Lemmy or Mastodon it must not be important? Anyone that hardcore?
wrote last edited by [email protected]I only use reddit sometimes when I am searching something on google (i am just adding 'reddit' after keywords). The bonus is that I don't get AI answers when I do this.

Oh I only use Lemmy, I didn't use Reddit in the past anyway, Lemmy is my first actual experience

Reddit for browsing hobby-related stuff, Lemmy if I want to get mad at Israel, seeing as that's every comment section and every single post.
Pretty much this for me. Lemmy made me realize I'm not actually left, and I wouldn't want to be.

Having come from reddit and already boycotting Facebook/Meta I don't feel hardcore using only Lemmy
It meets nearly all of my needs, and if the userbase picks up it will certainly eventually fill those needs as well

Instagram has its grip on me sadly. Tho after the localhost fiasco I switched over to browser Instagram

Why shouldn't it be?

I have a reddit and IG account but don't look at them. The only social media apps I have on my phone are for lemmy and mastodon.

I’m a Reddit blackout leaver, never going back. Ever.

Thank you for your meme harvesting work it is honorable and appreciated

I have Reddit acounts still so I can go back and delete my posts when they magically re-appear. The only time I see reddit is when a search leads me to them for problem solving. While I'm there, I check to make sure my deleted posts stay deleted.
I have IG and TT, but they're only there so when my wife sends me a link I 'need' to watch I can do so, then I disable the app again.
The only things I consume regularly are Lemmy, Pifed and Pixelfed. Occasionally, I have to trudge into Facebook to communicate with my HOA.

I basically only use Lemmy. Since reddit first tried to restrict their API I've been outta there. Other that that I use Facebook for marketplace because less and less is on Craigslist

Gave up on Reddit after the shit show of 2022. Never looked back.

I haven't browsed Reddit since the creation of my Lemmy account (~2years ago); though I've wound up viewing a Reddit thread or two via a google search on rare occasion. Beyond those two, the only other 'social media' I've used in at least a decade is Youtube.
Same. I do a lot of programming/game dev so I need to reference some reddit posts for that but never browsing there anymore.

My 10+ year old account with high karma was perma banned overnight I got into an argument with a power tripping rad left mod. I'm left leaning politically, however if you arent rad left on Reddit then youre a fascist. They love that echo chamber. Honestly one of the best thibgs to ever happen to me. Reddit is bad for your mental health. And their power tripping mods are pretty much nazis

The apps would open up a port that website Facebook integration tried to call to get around all tracking protections.
