We live in a world where there are animals that take the place of other animals' tongue; where insects farm other insects; where parasites live in the skin of animals and different animals eat them, forming a symbiotic relationship; where predators often kill for fun.
Normal is the right word.
Ok that’s a solid rebuttal around the “is it normal” argument. I’m personally still of the mindset that it’s “normal but wrong”. I wish we’d stop using normal to mean “good” and stick with it meaning “popular”. Statistics!

Top right is Inglorious Basterds. Not sure about top left.
Top left is Get Out. Pretty decent thriller

You are right, I buy organic as often as I can to not support the spraying of poison. And I usually eat whole grains, as you suggested, as it is much healthier.
we add tons of god knows what chemicals
This ticks #9 of the Vegan Bullshit Bingo. I'm from Europe and our basic organic oatmilk comes with stuff made from algue, seeds and plant oils. This is used everywhere in foodprocessing. Look it up, no dangerous "chemicals" to be found. There are brands that add sugar and artificial flavor, sure. Udders milk has about 5% sugar (lactose) and oat milk usually doesn't transcends this.
There is (almost) no baby killing going on
Half of the newborns are male and killed for veal, no? And the females get to be raised, milked and killed after a couple of years, so McDonald's can sell you cheap beef burgers.
most cows would get an udder infection if not molken regularly
Vegan Bullshit Bingo #17: Cows need to be milked
We did that to them by breeding them like that. That's Bullshit Bingo #32.Also, if you don't want to grow so much oat and soy because it destroys ecosystems and rainforests (#2), don't feed animals, feed people! We're losing like 80% of the calories by giving it to cows. Here is a graph from the BBC
I live like 200 meters away from a dairy farm, no shit.

It's 1% in every credible source I found. I don't know where you got your garbage from. But then again, you're using Vegan Bullshit Bingo, which is sponsored by and quotes the known terrorist organization Peta. So, it's save to say that nothing you said is even remotely true.
Oh, and BTW vegan Bullshit Bingo #17 is also a complete lie! I work with Allgäuer Braunview, one of the most natural cow breeds out there. They still suffer from udder infections when not milked. In the wild this is mittigated by calves, but it can still be a problem when the calf dies.
Edit: Good god, I finally found out where the heck this 40% number comes from. This is a problem EXCLUSIVE to New Zealand! In every other part of the world, the vast majority of calves is raised till adulthood!

How is me damaging a home that I rent in order to damage other's experience a better solution than just you know, using the carbon cycles that exist at a tangible rate?
Cars are a pollutant, the only ouright negative of smoking is pollution of lungs. However as you prefer heroin, maybe you are just outright wrong.
Other than that, ashes are good for the earth. If you use a filter then that's pollution, I don't.
Zero necessity is in my opinion wrong. I don't need these, but they historically and traditionally have been used as both heat sources in the cold. Meditative guides and casual incenses are just smoking but without even any outright pleasure.
Then again, you sound like a child of modernity and have not seen the aeons before you. You use the name pyre and know not the meaning. Hate for the smoke of which you would dispel.
"I'm just polluting lungs" is a wild defense lol
the garbage you smoke has nothing to do with incenses. also you can light a fire without all the extra toxic shit in a cigarette so the heat source claim is ridiculous.
love the poetry about fucking smoking though. it's almost like you don't smell like an absolute dumpster everywhere you go.

You could have written UDDER!
Look, I want you to know that I realize the mistake I made now and I am sorry

With all the potentiality, you limit your capability to something so processed and far from it's conception.
I absolutely hinted against the notion by mentioning filters. It is all poison.
No it is not a wild defense, and the thing you keep saying about smell is due to people who smoke inside. That literally is the consequence. However, you are too dense to understand consequences, liability, or any form of tangibility of nature.

Look man, the thing you are saying to do is what causes losers to smell like nothing but shit.
Smoking does have benefits, however the only smokers you seem to be aware of are tobacco and probably pot. You can smoke more than just that and filters/butts are the polluting aspect of the ground.
There are rituals and traditions for which you are so distant from that all you see are scum. Then again those scum are probably just hyper stressed out people without support networks and falling back to quick mental satiaty.
Anyways, your dismissal and close mindedness shows how it is out of selfishness. You do not care about anything other. Just your comfort. It saddens me I wasted my time, thinking it was a person of kindness, who wishes to see humanity succeed.
Then again, just the selfish escapades of another casting judgement and befalling their own idiosyncratic belief that one is better than the other. Best is to stop, second best is to reduce damage - your advice is to increase it.
You are dumb and naive. I shall light your pyre and hope the burning drives you to better places, to grow, and learn. Ascend as the smoke does, relinquish material form.

Well I fully agree that virtually all modern animal farming is cruel and should be reformed, yet I don't think Veganism is the only answer.
And of course Vegans shouting "YOU! Stop eating meat NOW, you monster!", only manages to make people LESS likely to do that. -
Normal, natural and necessary are the three N's of Carnism. Also:
Vegan Bullshit Bingo #1:
Lions eat meat tooYes, animals kill in the wild - to survive. We humans are, as opposed to predators or parasites, omnivores. We know how to grow crops, vegetables, etc. and cultivate fields. We have a choice, a conscience and we have ethics.
Are you identifying with the intelligence and life situation of that of a lion or a tongue parasite? Do you also commonly ask yourself "What would a tongue parasite do in my place right now"? Are lions that kill newborns of other lions, for example, really good role models?Vegan Bullshit Bingo #54
Well, humans just are on top of the food chain.Shouldn't you take responsibility in the role of the stronger and be considerate with your power? Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you have to. Otherwise you could maltreat children, handicapped people and all other physically disabled people for fun. Of course we don't do that because it would be immoral. Why should this moral understanding suddenly no longer apply to other species? Wouldn't we also wish for mercy and compassion if tomorrow a species superior to us colonized the earth?
Lol I think we'd need a whole discussion on philosophy and psychology to correctly address these points, and I doubt either of us is qualified enough.
Projecting human morality on animals is... Funny, as our higher empathy is essentially a social animal's trait that helps its group survive. Extending it to the whole universe is surely possible but who are we to say whether it's correct or not? We can only evaluate measurable effects, such as those on our ecosystem.
Regardless, I never wanted to start a discussion on veganism, I don't approve of current farming methods anyway, just pointing out that your definition of normal was wrong.

I’d like to be 100% vegan, I’m not but I try. We started with weekday vegetarianism and went from there. Moderation is absolutely effective, IMO.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]I think it's not that complicated. There is this quote from Jeremy Bentham:
The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?
Which they obviously can, right? Watch the videos.
Now let's not focus on them but on us, that's easier: We are at a point in history where we (you and me) don't need to kill animals anymore to survive. It is even harming us, clocking our arteries, destroying ecosystems. We live in a society where you can go buy plant-based alternatives that are cheaper and healthier, processed stuff like schnitzel and sausages, but also notorious superfoods like lentils and tofu. Happy Eat your Beans-day, by the way.
So we could solve like a quarter of the climate catastrophe, save millions on health care (I'm European) and human lifes by ditching saturated fat, slow down or even prevent further antibiotic resistance and free billions of sentient beings from short miserable lifes. But most of us choose not to, because they're accustomed to a taste. -
Yet several cultures across the world developed means to drink milk and eat cheese. The mongols' fermentation process allows them to eat and drink despite being lactose intolerant, not to mention they make kumis from mare milk
Several cultures around the world did a lot of fucked up shit.
