Obscured By Clouds. Right in the period when the band was all working together and just before they got pompous

      That's a really hard one.

Everything from Meddle to The Wall are absolute timeless masterpieces.

I never quite got how Pink Floyd managed to give every album such a unique vibe, they are not even remotely comparable and in different moods each one may be my favorite one.

Meddle is incredible. The atmosphere is great and Echoes is just something else. One of the very few 20min+ Songs i just have to listen to time and time again. I also love the Bass(es) in One of these Days.

DSOTM has an incredibly dense atmosphere and of course a few of the most popular songs like Time and Money.

I just love Animals. The more aggressive, more rocky sound has such an incredible power. Pigs (Three Different Ones) may be a great contender for my favorite song. I'm probably not as anti-capitalistic as many around here but listening to this song triggers the urge to burn down some estates.

Wish You Were Here is incredible again. Welcome to the Machine is another contender for my favorite song. Wish you were Here an all-time classic again.

The Wall is the climax. From an artistic standpoint it's imo the best album. The dark and gloomy atmosphere combined with the theatrical drama is incredible. Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 and Comfortably Numb again very popular songs.

So... my favorite album is probably Animals as I've heard that the most but of course it's a close match and in a year my opinion may be different.

The Wall Live in Berlin. The CD is awesome, the DVD, thanks to the cinematography simply breathtaking.

I love the album, but it stands to mention that this was a solo project by Roger Waters. Still, the lineup was stacked, and I loved the energy.

            Probably The Final Cut.
Pretty much every song is fantastic. But then again, I might just really like Roger Waters, because his next two albums are also fantastic.

Umma Gumma. Before they really set into a given style.

Such a great slow burn album. Absolutely builds.

The Wall is not only my favorite Pink Floyd album, it's my favorite album of all time.

I was a music history major when it came out, and I studied it like it was a Beethoven symphony. I became convinced that it was a 20th century music masterpiece along the lines of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue or Porgy & Bess, Bernstein's West Side Story, Rogers & Hammerstein's South Pacific or Sound of Music, The Beatles Sgt Pepper or Abby Road, etc.

Almost 50 years later, and my opinion still stands.

BTW, Paradoxically, DSOTM is probably the greatest album of all time, from an artistic and influential point of view. I just think The Wall is a masterpiece.

Does Pulse count? If not, I'm having a hard time choosing between The Wall, Division Bell, and DSOTM

I'll allow it since if I could only listen to one PF album on a desert island that would probably be it.

My vote, I remember my dad playing me that and DsotM and I preferred the more psychedelic vibe for the former

My answer too. Dark Side is easier to get into, and I preferred it when I first heard both. But going back over the years I think Wish is the better record; I stay wanting to hear it.

Its a tribute to Syd Barrett and a little fuck you to the record industry (Have a Cigar). There's a lot of emotion behind that album and that's what I love about it.

I had no idea it was a solo project, but now that you mention it, yes, it's written big on the cover πŸ™‚ And yes, the lineup, the choir, the stage props, I just love it!

Pure Pink Floyd would be The Division Bell then.

I have a soft spot for it, especially the eponymous track - but it's not their best work, but the title song is a great one the way it crests up.
