I guess he wanted to remain in a dictatorship, seems a sort of odd destination to me, pretty much guaranteed to be miserable even if he wasn't dumped into a combat, he could have gone to Cuba or something.
Cuba is a dictatorship of the working class, LGBT rights are enshrined in the constitution, the exact opposite of what any fascist who would fight for Russia (or Ukraine) wants.

Our German right wing shitheads are migrating to South American countries for example without speaking a word Spanish and without even wanting to integrate there because of all the not well integrated migrants here. Over the following ten years fifty - yes, fifty - other villas were built, all independently, all by Brits, all on top of each other, most without planning permission. A group of busybodies formed a HOA-style association and took over the area, building an English Shoppe with a red phone box outside where you could buy the Daily Mail and Tetley Tea, an English pub, replacing the road signs with English ones, even an English radio station. The last time we visited and decided to sell, we arrived to find they'd illegally installed a gate across the road - the PUBLIC road - and were only giving the remotes to certain worthy residents, which apparently we weren't.
But it's okay. Because they weren't dirty migrants forcing their culture on others and refusing the integrate; they were expats just looking for a little bit of sun.

I just wanna call this out as misinfo. Ukraine's claimed numbers are casualties which includes killed and wounded. I don't know if Ukraine has any claim for number killed, but estimates are around 300k, though the fact that Russia sends soldiers on crutches to the front lines, some of those might be double counted.
Yep, pretty sure in former USSR, they count wounded as casualties so perhaps Ukraine has adopted the same practice.

Makes you wonder if they acknowledge how bad they messed up. Or is this fine because they escaped the woke. I love the part in the article that says they followed some other influencer trying to get people to move, but was only able to get this family and 1 other to do it. A lot of dumb choices here, its amazing how they somehow feel like they were wronged when they had to do a lot of choices to get to this point.
