Former UN Aid Chief Calls Gaza Genocide 'Worst Crime of the 21st Century'
-
This is simply objectively false. For example, ten times as many people died in the Syrian civil war.
"There is no prior experience in my five decades of humanitarian experience that can come close to comparison to the horror we are all seeing in Gaza."
This year is the 50th anniversary of the start of the Cambodian genocide. The Rawandan genocide was 31 years ago. This guy is either deliberately lying or an idiot.

50 years ago was the 20th century (1901-2000)
31 years ago was the 20th century (1901-2000)There are 75 years left in the 21st century (2001-2100).

I mean it's bad, but what about how scared all the Zionists are of the starving children?

Yes, that's why I quoted the part where he also says it's the worst in the last 50 years.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]Fair. But to be *more *fair, he did qualify "that he'd seen", which is less a statement of level of atrocity mathematically, and more the fact that Israel's crimes are being publicly and globally televised in real time, day by day. This is being done brazenly in the open and they aren't even trying to hide it. In that respect, with such global attention and even support for these crimes, it is unprecedented in all of human history - not just the last 50 years.

I cant take these pictures of starving children and infants. It makes me want to die

Hard to disagree with that unless you're a delusional piece of shit
I genuinely don't see Gaza war worse than Ukraine war. The difference in deaths and destruction isn't 50%, it's closer to 1000%, so in comparison gaza war is relatively tiny and local conflict.

We're far too early in either Holocaust to officially tally the dead. The current counts in both countries are conservative.

This seems like you've got a weird bone to pick with a guy reporting on an industrial scale genocide of 1.4M people.

Not to argue semantics, but the genocide didn't start this century.

There is also the Uyghur genocide, strange he doesn't remember that
Edit: downvoted with no reply or reason, lemmy is really turning into reddit

I see one place as fighting and winning and the other place as just getting wiped out. You figure it out.

And it is amazing how many pieces of shit are out there. Shane on all the governments just going along with it.
The way everyone is going on about punching Nazis in the face, you would think that it's start catching on with people denying this tragedy.

Britain was only a little surprising, but surprising none the less. Peoples need to start holding these shit filled bags to account

So far. Humanity still has lots of 21st century to ruin after all, and that's not even counting the planetary climate disaster.

Another of user ArbitrayValues comments right here from another thread, arguing that its ok for the catholic church to keep pedo priests confessions of their crimes secret:
The issue here is that Catholic priests have a religious obligation not to report crimes they find out about in certain specific circumstances, and this law would prevent them from fulfilling that obligation
So no, I dont think your opinions about genocide matter much, buddy. You always seem to pick the wrong side where religions are concerned.

The US is complicit. Why are so many of our politicians puppets for Netanyahu. Could also explain why many don't want the Epstein files released.
Epstein and Maxwell had ties to Israeli intelligence for decades

Not to argue semantics, but the genocide didn't start this century.
no one said it did:
it can still be the worst crime of this century, because last century had even worse crimes at the same time as this one.

Yeah it's just semantics, but I think it's important to point out this has been ongoing for a long time

I wish I knew. I wish there was some kind of leak that would explain it. I always assumed it was some stupid CIA shit that says we have to have "presence" in the middle east no matter what, even if we have to support a very obvious genocide. Or a more general explanation like the sickest motherfucking psychos have control of the world.
"Israel is the largest American aircraft carrier in the world that cannot be sunk, does not carry even one American soldier, and is located in a critical region for American national security."
~Alexander Haig
There's your explanation, no secret CIA shit needed. Our economy runs on oil and the Middle East got it.
Also no secret, AIPAC has bought our entire political structure. Hell, they don't even need to spend, just scream "anti-Semite" at anyone screaming "genocide!".
