If I collate them chronologically, is that organized enough, or do they need labels & glass cases to qualify? I'll clean up afterwards. Promise. Shake on it? 😜

If you paid for the paper version you have every moral right to find it on the seven seas.

At one point I realised it takes me less time to pirate a game than to find the right DVD in my room.

I do believe they were all purchased in this wonderful ancient book store we had in my city growing up which was in an old house, and the floors were positively slanted from the weight of books on them, and you navigated your way tentatively around towering piles of poetry collections. It was wonderful.

Can I be honest? I have no idea how to find anything that I could pirate.

The Four Past Midnight is a good book

I might have only read The Langoliers, because horror scares me, but I'm sure the rest are good!

I think Hearts in Atlantis and Duma Key are particularly good. I really like the middle period of King's books a lot. I like all the traditional horror ones too, but the ones that have a bit more in terms of relationships are somehow really good. The stories of Full Dark, No Stars is absolutely shockingly good in the darkest way imaginable, and The Man In The Black Suit actually won the O. Henry award.

It does require certain skills. It's one of those things that seems easy to someone who's used to it to the point they no longer see the pitfalls.

The smell must have been divine. I love the smell of old books

Get a BitTorrent client. Deluge has been treating me right, so I can vouch for it, but there's probably options.

Torrents can be found at 1337x.to. Again, there's options and there is a bit of flow to it - it's worth looking up alternatives once in a while, but this one's decent for the popular stuff. Good ol' Pirate Bay is still a thing. I treat it as backup these days. For more obscure stuff there are some "private trackers". Never quite understood the tech behind it, but they only let you torrent if you sign up. These are usually more narrowly focused, require a sign-up (sometimes invite only), and only let you download if your seed ratio is good (oh yeah, look up some of the terminology: peer, seed, leech are the main ones. Bonus - you will understand this xkcd once you do.)

Worst case scenario - you can always try googling "your thing torrent". It's a bit more risky - you'll get a TON of malicious sites as results, but sometimes it's worth it. Usually not though.

Have an ad blocker installed and know where to click. You want either a link to download a .torrent file (which will open in your client of choice) or a "magnet" link. Not exactly sure how that works but it does work. Anything else is bad news. Videos/music is generally safe unless you're extra stupid, games and software are never guaraneed to be safe. Cracks will often get flagged by anti-virus software. Can't offer much more help than "use your judgement".

You may live in one of the countries where you have to use a VPN to do stuff like this. I don't, so I can't guide you in that regard. If you're in the USA or Germany then you definitely need to look this up. There's some others, but I don't remember. If you're in Eastern Europe you're certainly fine.

I'm very hungover today, so please ignore all the spelling and/or factual mistakes I've maked. I hope this is enough to get you started. Next step is for you to try stuff and make mistakes. That's the best way to learn. Or you know, ask me if you have questions.
