He's not even a regular man

is that... is that DEAN Cain?
Dean Tanaka.
Since they like dead naming
-
Bluesky is just going to town on Dean Cain now.
When he made the dumb ass statement criticizing James Gunn for calling Superman an immigrant a small part of me wanted to believe he was just actually concerned about the financial future of the franchise and just thought incorrectly that angering bigots would negatively affect the film. But this completely confirms that nope, he's just another racist and bigoted scumbag.
-
He was on a gameshow a while back. He showed himself to be not that smart. That guy from "Castle" rocked it though.
Oh, oh that's not on at all. He isn't that guy from Castle.
He's that guy from Firefly. His most acclaimed show, that went on for years (don't check).

Not just a racist but, but one who actually wants to wear the red armband and get one of those cool hats with the skull. An active racist who wants to personally hurt and abuse people of colour

He played Supergirls adopted father on the tv show and was unceremoniously killed offscreen because it was a show filled with women and trans people and Cain was an insufferable bigot on set and nobody wanted him around.

You know what fucks me up? His birth name is Dean Tanaka. His biological father is Japanese. Strong "pulling the ladder up behind you" vibes.
This would be like George Takei joining ice. After what the US government did to the Japanese American community, you’d think a guy who is of Japanese descent would be more self aware about immigrants
-
I agree. Dude made wearing jorts and roller blades seem cool back in the day.
That second photo has the same energy as the one of the rock with a turtleneck and a Fanny pack.
-
That's too bad. I remember liking that show.
But I was a teenager or something, so it might not hold up if I rewatched it, which I definitely won't now anyway.
I first learned he was a bigot when he got fired from super girl, a show with a cast full of women and trans people. Because he was an insufferable shithead on the set and everyone hated him

The correct pluralization would be Christophers Reeve.
Not really, but it's true for hands-full, attorneys general, and Christophers Reeve

My favorite example of this being used on a person is an episode of Star Trek Voyager where Ensign Harry Kim was duplicated and Tuvok (the Vulcan) had the chutzpah to say “One of the Ensigns Kim.” in conversation.

Or like how there is a small but fast-growing nationalist far-right party in Japan right now, that is slowly gaining political power in the government as the long-standing traditional conservative party falls out of favor with the people.
You would think the Japanese of all people would understand the dangers of becoming nationalistic and imperialistic again.

wrote last edited by [email protected]Fema, after announcing that, revoked it after backlash and claimed it was never an "official" directive, even though it was offically announced by Fema.
Absolute clown car, but probably good enough for the conservatives to fall back in line entirely.

They are folks just like the rest of us, some are flat out stupid.
I know a couple of Japanese-American people whose grandparents met and married in US concentration camps during WW2. They are fully in on the Trump train, Musk fans, and happy to see “those people” suffer. If you try to point out the hypocrisy, they just roll their eyes at you.

I can understand why they cast Cain in that show; Supergirl's cast was filled with people who'd been involved with previous Superman projects. I still don't get why they cast Sorbo, though.
-
Browncoats never die.
They never shut up, either.

Christopher Reeves
It's just the one Reeve.
They should've kept up the pattern and cast Keanu Reeves in the role in the '90s or 2000s.

They just didn’t know?
Supergirl predates MAGA, it predates the first Trump presidency. Back then, those people kept that shit to themselves mostly.

See? Even Wunvok expresses plurality on the first part with Tuvok
