The infantry combat feels good and chaotic. Having maps like Operation Metro and Operation Locker ported to BF6 would be perfect.

I didn't get much opportunity to test the vehicles tho. My computer was lagging a lot in the larger maps due to not having enough RAM.

edit: also, I really hope they do something about the cheaters. I'm already giving EA kernel level access to my computer because of that anticheat. Having cheaters in BF6 is beyond unacceptable.

Cheaters are not going to go away as a matter of fact valorant which is one of the best ftp games with cheaters still has a lot of cheaters. CSGO hasnt changed. Its impossible but thats because the anticheat approach is just code based. They need to use multiple approaches. I find it funny how someone with a 100% headshot rate and a 0% miss rate still doesnt get auto banned.

Non-starter for anti-cheat. They also specifically disabled it on Linux even without counting the anti-cheat.

My hopes for any BF game have been in the dirt since the BG3 beta.

          Squad is fun.

Yeah they use DMA hardware controlled by another PC to completely bypass the kernel level anticheat. It basically makes their wallhacks and some other things that aren't replicated by the server completely imperceptible. I think anti cheat lost the seems race, we need to return to community run servers with dedicated teams of mods and admins to keep an eye on this stuff.

Cheaters are not going to go away

Reminds me of a Trevor Moore song:

And I don't wanna hear, "Well it actually makes it harder to steal your number

And it keeps you more secure from a cyber attack"

Well guess what? They're gonna figure out how to hack this shit too

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0_pYEZQutc

But yeah, no matter what the anti cheat measure is, all it takes is one person cracking it.

Best case is they get it as good as DRM for pirated games. Last I looked into it there was really just one random woman who clearly had a couple different mental illnes (not an insult, literally unwell) who was able to crack a widely used type of DRM.

But she could, and if she ever stopped, someone else would quickly learn. Because for cracking games the difference between 1 and 2 people is negligible, it's a lot of work and if not working together your both wasting time on the same game. But the difference between 0 and 1 is incredible. Lots of people with the skill simply has no reason to learn when someone else is already doing it

With cheats, there's a monetary incentive because you're selling to people who will keep needing to buy a new account, and new cheats

I bet cheating will probably always be present until the game is being run in a trusted environment (a server) and the video feed is sent to clients.

This or running our own servers and kicking the cheaters out whenever they show up.

The critical battlefield experience can be had on Linux. By that I mean checking to see if it's selling better than Call of Duty and arguing about it.
