Is there an actor you can't stand? Do they have any exceptions?

Will Ferrell is garbage in everything except Anchorman
I like his over the top super dumb villains in Zoolander and Between Two Ferns.

Gonna take it in a slightly different direction and pivot the question to music. And in that case, Red Hot Chili Peppers, it's time to stop. I get it, it was cool and unique. But now, it all sounds the same, and you headline every festival ever and I can't enjoy the same 5 songs being crammed down my throat for the next 5 decades to come still. Please stop. I know you "can't stop", but please, please, stop.
Flea dancing around on stage naked at 20? Okay, edgy and hilarious. Doing it at 60+? Talk about a real Uncle Rico

Not a Cruise fan myself, or NASCAR, but I do like Days of Thunder.
Also staring Nicole Kidman, Micheal Rooker, and Robert Duvall.
Every time I see a train of traffic approaching behind me as I floor it on an on ramp to the interstate I say to myself "IF YOU DON'T GET ME OUT IN FRONT OF THAT PACE CAR THIS RACE IS OVER!"
-
Hollywood is starting to make me dislike Pedro Pascal only because he's in EVERY DAMN THING.
I actually like the guy, but overexposure is a thing. And he could stand to just chill for a little while.
Agreed, I was worried the same would happen to Allen Tudyk but then I watched three Allen Tudyk shows in a row and realized it's actually really hard to get sick of him for some reason.

For example, I don't like Will Ferrell in his typical roles. Oh they just drive me batty.
But. I do love Stranger Than Fiction. It's such a cozy movie.
I'm surprised no one has said Fran Drescher
-
So then how are you confused by them sharing their faith this way?
Did I say I was confused?
I am put off by it, I find it concerning, inappropriate, performative, disingenuous.
-
Adam Sandler. I personally feel that his humour is aimed at school children - making silly faces and silly voices and basically making fun of the disabled or neuroatypical - but it's marketed to adults.
But I like 50 First Dates. He's mostly not a shouting toddler in that.
I thought Sandler in Uncut Gems was pretty good. It's a serious role, that made me rethink all of the campy comedies he's done.

You show you are confused by the last line in your post. Why would you think this would need tocome from the clergy given your history of fundie christianity? Were you in one of the weird ones that doesn't evangelize?

Tenet frustrated me. You could tell that there was a good movie there but the sound mixing was horrible and the execution was lacking.
wrote last edited by [email protected]While I agree with you, I have heard two things that I think are important to know.
-
The early pirated versions were especially horrible, as the audio was mixed for the big screen.
-
Intentionally muddying the dialogue is a well known movie technique. Often used in scenes or situations where the actual spoken words aren't important. For example, I remember seeing an old movie once where this guy is dumping his GF down by the docks, and most of his words are inaudible due to fog horns from ships, and his (ex)GF covers her ears. Where Nolan failed was that in that fog horn example it's obvious that it's intentional. In Tenet, on the other hand, the masqing audio is usually part of the soundtrack, so it just sounds like an awful mix. Tenet made me adjust volume constantly because I felt I was missing something. I liked the movie, though. Except that scene didn't even closely resemble Oslo airport.
I also wish Nolans movies did not have such an insanely wide dynamic audio range. First you're listening to actual important dialog, then your windows shatter from the sound of movie gunshots.

Try watching his SNL appearances and his role in Get Shorty. He’s a decent actor he just chooses wooden roles because it is most profitable for him.
Edit: Be Cool not Get Shorty.
I think you’re thinking of Be Cool. The Rock was not in Get Shorty

This gave new an idea.
Donald currently enjoys erasing history - rewriting slavery, removing BIPOC accomplishments, etc. What if we start removing him from old media? Re-record a version of that movie that didn’t have Trump in it, erase old copies of The Apprentice, etc.
wrote last edited by [email protected]Or just cut out the scene from the existing movie and start spreading the edit via bittorrent.

I saw it as an AMC A-List subscriber diring COVID twice as the only person in the theater. I sat in the best seat in a place that had redone theor soubd system 1 year before and it was rough.
Im not sure there are better circumstances to view it in for the average person.

Nathan Fillion
Campy actor from campy shows that people made their personalities for lack of better alternatives.
They hated him because he told the truth

wrote last edited by [email protected]No, its because he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Has he gone to seminary?
Has he been ordained?
Is he certified in any kind of theological field?
To my knowledge, no, he isn't.
He's no different from any other celeb promoting any other thing which they barely understand, like Madonna with Kabala.
I find it weird precisely because I would be more inclined to listen to an actual expert over a popular, pretty face.
...
I am not confused in the sense of 'why would he do this?'
Thats easy: He is being performatively, publically Christian, which ironically, is something you can find scripture to tell you that that's not a thing you should be doing.
...
But what is a Protestant doing promoting Lent, anyway?
Its fucking wierd, it would be like Marky Mark promoting Mormon diet restrictions.
Very, very rare to see any kind of ecumenism coming from American Protestant Christians, they usually hate the fuck out of Catholics, or just barely tolerate them, call them polytheists and the Church of The Beast after the Catholics have left the room.

…maybe one exception: I was able to talk her into seeing Edge of Tomorrow by telling her that he dies 26 times on-screen and countless times off-screen.
I apologise if this seems inappropriate, but I kinda like your wife now. And you for putting that argument up in the first place.
Not at all inappropriate to me! Cheers

What about "I love you Philip Morris?" definitely worth watching
Ooh I haven't seen that one! Thank you

Thomas middleditch, the dude makes my skin crawl. Silicon valley is the only thing I've been able to watch with him, but when he's just on talk shows or being himself i have to skip past. Skeevy is the word that comes to mind.

Leo DiCaprio. No exceptions. The movies he's been in that I've enjoyed were enjoyed despite him and not because of him.
His entire approach to a character is to put on an over-the-top accent and call it a day. I've never had the sense that any of his characters were the actual character and weren't just "Leo with an accent". I'll be fair and say that he has improved in recent years, with movies like The Revenant being tolerable.
But holy shit, how his career went anywhere when people saw his "acting" in Titanic and especially Romeo and Juliet, is mind-boggling to me.
Didn't like inception or shutter island?

I cannot, for the life of me understand the appeal of Russell Crowe. Except I have no problem with his brutish density in L.A. Confidential.
Gladiator?
-
Nickolas Cage
but he's great in Mandy
I enjoyed him in Willy's Wonderland
