I love Daft Punk so much. I hate that I never got a chance to see them live. I have the album Alive 2007 on repeat right now. (I say earlier stuff in the title because I didn't care for the album Random Access Memories.)

Who else would you recommend I listen to? Especially if they're still producing music. I love their loopy, sampled sound. Any other bands do something similar? Identical isn't necessary, adjacent is fine.

Justice, no contest. Watch the full 'Iris - A space opera' live concert on YouTube and you'll understand why.

Not sure I'd phrase it that way but you'd probably like:

      Wax Tailor

      Ratatat

      Justice

      Flying Lotus

      Paza Rahm

      Two Fingers

      Claude VonStroke

      Xploding PlastiX

      Edit:

I'll throw in Caravan Palace and Parov Stellar if you like electroswing

100% go see Air on tour right now. The Moon Safari tour might be the closest thing to peak Daft Punk shows but obviously the chill side of it. Incredible vibes at these shows with amazing stage production.

        Les Digitales Rhymes -
        Röyksopp is still active -
        Mirwais Ahmadzaï production -
        Basement Jaxx -
The Avalanches (crazy amount of samples) -
        Danger -
        Red snapper (jazzy) -
Dead mau5 ( not for me but the certainly took some the daft punk blueprint)

Of course Justice, Underworld, DJ Shadow, Fatboy slim, chemical brothers, Orbital, LCD Soundsystem

So sad Ratatat is gone. Nothing since 2015. Just one more way the world went downhill since then.

Not really the same but Chromeo.

Chromeo is so fucking funky and danceable.

Also just some random Future Funk suggestions...

Macross 82-99, Saint Pepsi, Conscious Thoughts, AnTgry, Yung Bae, id chief, Castle Carousel, to a lesser extent Flamingosis...

Dunno... lemme know when you figure it out tho

Roosevelt and Parcels aren’t as electronic but have very similar sounds. Daft Punk actually helped produce a Parcels single.

Isn't Saint Pepsi vaporwave? I remember Enjoy Yourself or whatever that song was called, with Mac Tonight as the music video.

Also, nu-disco is also a thing. Not sure if disco funk is more disco or more funk, as I'm not very familiar with the intricasies of disco

I was a fan of Funky Panda on YouTube a few years back (~2019), mostly for electro swing, but they also uploaded future funk and nu-disco. Not anymore, though. Funky Way FM as an online radio appears to have come back, though

Edit: here be the Funky Way: https://funkyway.net/

Edit 2: there's also an album credited to Kyo-2, Macintosh Plus, Saint Pepsi and Saint Germain on Spotify and the first song is entitled "VAPORWAVE THEME SONG." Not sure if it is legit, as I'm not familiar enough with vaporwave. I recognise two names, though

They are very different genres. But most likely Daft Punk have danceable music that can be traced back to Chicago house. After disco people stared incorporating synth /electro sound into dance music into the 80s. Chicago house DJ Paul Johnson is the first name mentioned in the Daft Punk song "Teachers". During the 90's French house became very big. Searching 90's or 2000's French house will get groups close to Daft Punk.

Well Future Funk was sort of a “fork” from Vaporwave from what I remember. Very DIY attitude based and similar visual aesthetic but it’s more about sampling Boogie music and then compressing the hell out of the kick - to where it’s really more in the vein of Filter/French House - but usually a bit more lofi production wise.

Rumor is, any time two Frenchmen are in a room with a keyboard, there is a small chance that the next electronic duo will form from the interaction.

Until then, it's probably Justice and Ratatat. Check out Marc Rebillet, too. The rare "one-man electronic duo."

The legend. I mean he's fun for a while but after that while you start to see patterns and it kind of got old for me.

I recommend listening to Thomas Bangalter's other projects.

I'm not sure if Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo had side projects too.

Track down Club Soda - it’s great.
