The cat turned around for a face rub on the knee! That's so high praise from a cat

If I'm out of my home for a day my cat comes running to the door meowing when I return. Then he paces around for a while, but if I sit on the couch he'll join me.

I don't think it turned around. That's still its butthole facing the camera.

If you don't think your cat loves you, then your cat probably doesn't think you respect them.

This is normal, cats lose affection after 2 to 4 weeks away.

anyone who knows cats knows that this cat is indeed interested in saying hello by approaching and being close to you. the language is much more subtle and subdued than a dog tackle hello.

My cat is actually super affectionate, annoyingly so sometimes. He's like a dog that doesn't fetch. He greets me at the door, meows and rubs my legs non-stop until I sit down and he can crawl on my lap. He loves new people, and if you try to leave him home alone for more than a day or two, even with a clean box and full food and water, he'll poop on the floor in protest. Never any other time. But if we have someone stop in on him, even just for a half hour of pets, he's fine

I do, I do want that! I'm a simple fellow and a dog suits me fine.

The cat's body language (ears forward, tail completely up) says it is unafraid and interested. In the last panel, it is, "bunting," using the scent glands in it's head to mix it's scent with it's owner, essentially marking it as it's family. So, yeah, that cat is having a very emotional reunion.
