wrote last edited by [email protected]You can make your own bootleg track saw out of a regular skilsaw and some scraps. Personally I haven't even bothered doing that, and just clamp a straight edge to whatever I'm cutting when I need to make a long straight cut. It's a lot slower and more fidgety than having a real track, but I rarely make cuts like that.

Just wire up a pedal you need to actively step on to make it operational!

I use one of those for my shopvac and regular vacuum too. It's just damn useful not having to constantly hit a tiny switch on the side. Just squeeze the pedal.
also means it's not gonna keep going when you step away, always good to prevent machine independence

I cannot let the invasive thoughts win.
Tablesaws take up so much space and I only need one maybe 2-3 times a year. The bucketsaw is very tempting. Just needs some ratchet straps and quick clamps.
Thats why I have a 10 inch job site unit that folds up and stashes out of the way

you plug it in.
I remember going to work with my father. he was in construction and I was the bitch. "go get this" "go do that" kind of stuff.
one day one if the guys hands me a black cord and says to plug it in. so I do.
black cord was connected to a circular saw which had the guard and trigger ziptied open/on. it was laying on the floor and took off like a bat out of hell.
before I knew what the fuck was happening it was clear across the other side of the house and just zipped off the edge and unplugged itself.
the guys all stood around laughing, bent over even.
good times.

The dust ejector would be pointed mostly into this bucket so the blood would too. Until you ran off waving your new stump around anyway.
So you wont have enough fingers to hold new bucket. Pointless.
