I think this has to do with the words per minute read back speed. I find that audiobooks from books with large font are read slower than the audiobook versions of books with smaller type. The last two audiobooks I've heard are The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Project Hail Mary. The former was read more slowly than the latter and had about 3 to 4 times bigger type.

Interesting, I would’ve guessed the sign was just because both are in the “impaired sight” section. When you say they have bigger type, is that just on the case for the audiobook or does the audiobook come with the full text every time?

It's just Brian Blessed narrating, isn't it.
