No, I don't have problem with ice or olives. Those don't go in your mouth unless you put them there.

If you want to wrap your head around this, here's a clear distinction: Cereal is ok, but if a cookie gets soggy, breaks and falls into a glass of milk then that glass of milk is fully spoiled, can't be salvaged and has to be thrown away.

Yeah! Look up white bean soup or navy bean soup, those are the classics. I was just spit balling though - my favorite thing about soup is you can put whatever the heck you want in there.

Edit to add: Pumpkin soups are totally awesome too! One of the best ones I ever had was pumpkin soup filled with chunks of seafood and served in a roasted pumpkin. At first I was like "seafood, pumpkin? Blegh." But then I tasted it and I was like "oh damn".

My favorite is beans and sauerkraut soup and Ukrainian borstch
