Violence in response to speech is not a good thing for a liberal society. If one side of politics does it the other will be forced to respond on the same level.
You are correct, and I think most people on the left feel exactly the same. Which I think is why the people who seem to be shooting at the conservatives have been the same nuts that they have been stirring up to back them. However, I also understand why people feel such schadenfreude for the very people who are the ones out there motivating the nuts in the first place.
The real question is will Trump use this as the excuse they have been looking for to declare martial law?Secondarily, anyone want to place bets on how long it will take for us to find out that the shooter was right wing nutter?

Hey ur the first person to engage in good faith thanks. Extremists on either side are bad I feel like Charlie was advocating for speech between people to prevent exactly this extremism. Sadly I fear they will use it as justification to do extremism in response.
If ur gonna be placing bets like that it won't look good if the shooter turns out to be trans or extreme left.

Yeah your culture is a reality TV show. During ur last election my mates and I where sitting around taking bets on the stock market while joking about how we might as well make the most of the final season of the usa.
And calling these people fascists that's a little extreme imo. Both sides of the us politics see each other as the worst imaginable thing. Extremist speech by the other side is what both sides use to justify violence. If u have read any Roman history this is how the fall of Rome happened. Trump uses hyperbole to entertain his voter base (because the average American voter has the IQ of a house brick) doesn't mean he is literally going to war. Nor was he calling for death, he was in fact calling for the application of the law to criminals (quite the opposite of vigilante executions). What exactly has trump done to lgb and disabled people that he hasn't done to other people. I don't see any gay camps, any forced conversion therapy, any disabled ramp removal etc etc.
