I can't roll my r's. I speak pretty decent Spanish (took 5 semesters in high school), but have never been able to figure out how to roll the r's, despite years of trying on and off to figure it out.

It's never a problem. On the rare occasions that I actually need to speak Spanish, nobody cares that I can't roll my r's.

I have the same problem, except one day I figured it out! I was rolling rrrs all day! But the next day I woke up and could only sort of do it. And now I can't do it at all again, despite trying to learn.

I am unable to do the magic eye things, my eyes just don't focus on that way. Good thing I never am required to

I have a nervous tick test only comes out in very rare situations (access to a particular weight of cloth at hand height) and caused me to develop a thick callous on the thumb side of the first knuckle on each middle finger.

My right foot is almost one size wider than my left foot. Finding a good pair of shoes is hard.

And I can't remember what kind of clothes people are wearing. Colours, sometimes, but it's like my visual cortex dedicates zero processing power for clothes.

I have the opposite problem. Only remember clothes and hair, never faces. It affects my life a lot, though.

I'm with you on github for sure. I assume people who use it regularly think it has a decent layout but to me it seems so random and disjointed that I can't imagine how that's possible.

I physically cannot focus or think too hard on something for too long (somewhere between 1-2 hrs), otherwise I would get physically sick. It was so bad for me as a child that I stopped watching movies... but these days it seems no more than a fun fact for my therapists

I can curl my upper lip on the left side, but the right side can't do it. I can't raise one eyebrow either.

I can't whistle so always called my kids with a trill sound (like a loud Spanish RR, not Arabic ululation) and it is also my recall sound for the dogs. But I really can't whistle. Can sort of make a sound but it's laughably mockably wimpy.

Can't catch at all either, can throw reasonably accurately most of the time but an object coming at me never goes where my hands think it should. I am shamed by my penultimate daughter, who despite nearsightedness worse even than mine was, and a strong drive to be non-athletic, can pluck anything out of the air, has both lighting fast reflexes and intuitive hand eye coordination. But it doesn't really affect me other than occasional embarrassment - I just pick whatever it is up off the floor after it hits me.

                      I have 3

I cannot juggle. I don't generally lack in hand-eye coordination (not that I'm overly-gifted with it either, but I'd generally say that I'm at least average,) and I understand the theory of it well enough, I've even been able to teach people to juggle successfully, it's just that I, myself, cannot juggle.

I'm also a reasonably handy, technically-minded person, again not an absolute wizard, but if I crack a gadget open, with a couple Google searches and how-to guides, I can usually understand more or less how things work and how to fix them if they're broken.

But something about sewing machines breaks my mind. There's something going on right around the bobbin that just doesn't make sense to my brain and doesn't seem like it should work, but it apparently does, because I've successfully used a sewing machine and can confirm first-hand that they work.

Lastly, I don't like needles. It's not a horrible phobia that sends me running for the hills, but something about needles sleeves me out like nothing else. I can suck it up and get my necessary vaccines and such, but I do kind of have to give myself a little internal pep-talk first. It's not a fear of pain, I have pretty solid pain tolerance and needles really don't hurt that much at all, it's specifically needles that weird me out. If there was an option to get my vaccines where a doctor would shank me with a scalpel and rub the vaccine into the wound, I'd absolutely go for it.

I am with you on sewing machines, I have run it slowly while watching and it still breaks my mind. I don't understand how the stitch can hold, what it looks like it's doing would just unravel. It's like it defies physics.

GitHub and all the other sites like it are a bit odd from a UI perspective cuz they’re catering to both regular users (including the “where exe” crowd) and devs, who need to access the million options git gives and all the extras it doesn’t (automated build and testing systems, for example). Going to a project and downloading prebuilt binaries is kinda a tertiary purpose for them, so the UI is more focused on the project’s source code + build instructions and the tooling to work with those instead.

Yeah that's what I meant by "people who use it more probably think it has a better layout". I've tried to use it in the fashion it was designed on a couple of occasions but the version control / repository categorization functions didn't make sense to me. I assume it would if I did those things more but I also think it's laid out differently than I would like even for those purposes.

You and my dog sound like you'd have a lot in common. He lets treats bounce off his head and then just eats them off the ground after.

Turns out I only have one kidney. Went in for a scan of my bladder (which was fine), and the nurse doing the scan just casually mentioned it. I had no idea. I was 43 at the time.

I can barely whistle, it sounds like a light breeze. I can barely snap my fingers, its more a soft thump than a snap 90% of the time. But hey, I can burp and pop my ears on command, so I’ve got that going for me.

Could be! I've often wondered if the problem is something I can't really overcome with practice. I've watched many tutorial videos over the years, but my tongue just ends up doing nothing when I try to practice.

I can snap with my left hand but not my right. I'm right-handed so in theory my right hand should have enough dexterity to do it?

It's not relevant to my daily life but it is sometimes a significant limitation.

I'm one of those that passes out at the sight of blood. A little scratch or something won't send me but actual injury or a lot of medical stuff will get me.

About half of the time I get an injection or blood drawn I'm out. They use those high chairs so the nurses have more ergonomic access to the patients? Nope, I get the recliner, because I'm liable to fall out of that high chair and beat my head on the floor and now the nurse has a big heavy mess to clean up.

Two of my four doses of the Covid vaccine I was out. Was pretty sure it was going to happen each time and I was right twice. Still got all four.

I've done it to my dental surgeon almost every time I've seen him. Has a nasty habit of playing a video tape that explains the risks of tooth removal, and I seldom retain consciousness through the part about possible nerve damage. They tend to leave you alone in a room while this video plays. Even if I stay conscious I go weak and can't really move under my own power, it's really fun to be alone like that.

I'm careful to warn everyone who works in the shop with me that - if you are injured - I'm not going to be able to drive you to the emergency room, you'll have to wait for and pay for an ambulance. So put on your safety glasses and partake in my large collection of push sticks.
