I’m a 22-year-old man, and I support everyone’s right to live however they want, as long as they’re not hurting anyone. I believe in justice, equality, and tolerance. Personally, my ideal relationship is more traditional. My wife of 2 years (we’ve been together for 5) shares this outlook: she stays home and dedicates her time to our family. We also live in a multigenerational home with my parents, my older brother, his wife, and their child, so that sense of community is very strong. I believe women should always have the freedom to choose the kind of life they want, whether traditional, modern, or anything in between, and should never be pressured in either direction.

As long as you and your partner are in agreement with what you both want, there's no issue.

I don’t see any problem with it. I describe myself as progressive as well, and for me the key to that statement is that both me and my partner constructed this relationship to be how we wanted it to be.

If you and your wife are equals in the decision making process, whatever the conclusion is, I would say you are a progressive couple.

There is no contradiction. Progressive is about taking the forced mold away, not creating a new one.
