I and my niece (50 and 13) live with my 85 year old dad because housing costs are fucked up here.

If one enters graduate school, it's after college/"university."

Are there any grad schools which aren't associated with a college/university?

What does weight have to do with anything? You can be rich or poor regardless of how much weight you are

Or is this a attempt at being making fun of fat people?

Back in 1960, the US minimum wage was $1.00/hour and the average house was $11,000.00

In those days, pretty much any union job would support a family of four with a decent house and money to send the kids to college.

By those standards, today's 'middle class' is poverty stricken.

"Everyone is poor" sounds more like "tell me you're not poor without telling me your income".

Not to be, like, a dick about it, though. I'm glad if you're doing (relatively) alright, and hope you'll use that for good.

It's a silly distinction. If you are "going to college/university," you could be going for any number of degree programs, from a Bachelor's Degree, to an Associates Degree, to a Master's Degree, or whatever. The degree program is irrelevant. If you are going to school, and it is a college or university, you are going to college/university.

I can't afford next month's rent because I don't have a roommate. And I don't have a roommate because she decided to use me nonstop for months. And I can't find another roommate because this place sucks. And I hate my life and I want to die and I want to drink.

I mean, here in Canada, shit is insane. The fact that it's like $20 for a burger and fries at a drink at A&W is off the wall. Also now I really want A&W.

That doesn't determine the clear distinction between graduate school and undergraduate school.

No. "Going to college" implies an undergraduate degree.

Subway is probably my favourite. A veggie footlong is 10 CAD or so. Adding a nice desert, I manage to feed a couple people there for $25 with coupons.

Lunch deals at certain hole-in-the-wall places are on a similar tier. Eating out can get twice or even four times as expensive as that if you're not paying attention - which I know from dining with people who aren't poor.

Well, not quite. I was more thinking of love, compassion, a loving family, a job I like... that sort of things 🙂

                                  Random update...

You wanna know what someone threw away today?

Out at our city park, someone threw away an emergency scissor jack for their car, perfectly functional no less.

Like, why do people throw perfectly good things away like that?

Yes, I added it to our vehicle trunk, along with our already two scissor jacks, now three.

                                  Why are people that wasteful???

Yeah but you're implying there's a distinction between universities and post-grad, not undergrad and post-grad.
