Wikipedia is weird. In an article that lists the largest protests that have occurred in the United States, they still feel the need to tell you that each one of these protests, that are on a list of protests that occurred in the United States, in fact occurred in the United States.

I'm not eager to join them, and she spent her money in a way that was impossible to refuse. Are you saying that everyone should have abandoned the planned protest as soon as she took out that ad? Are we supposed to throw hissy fits and cancel everything we try to do because someone that doesn't pass a purity test participates?

Unless you're out there interrogating every single protest attendee and refusing to participate in any political action that your "undesirables" are also participating in....you're just as much of a hypocrite as you are claiming that I am.

So you compromised your morals to ally with immoral people, and you can’t even articulate for what reason or what was accomplished by it? Christ, that’s sad.

I'm going to be honest, I've been speaking vicariously because I did not personally attend this protest. I wasn't able to make it due to some personal health issues, so I've been talking to you from the perspective of someone who supports the protest, but did not participate. I don't know what your problem is beyond being the kind of leftist that values purity tests over support, but I'm quite finished entertaining your notions of "debate" and wish you a good day.

You misunderstand. Genocide is not up for debate. This is like accusing someone of a purity test for not wanting fecal matter and their drinking water.

If you can’t even stand against genocide, you have absolutely no sense of right and wrong.

Where on earth did you get the idea that I do anything besides condemn genocide?

CDPR made the combat easier so the game would appeal to a wider audience and make more money. The Witcher games are getting worse because of capitalism. If money weren't involved, the devs could focus on making a work with artistic value, including in the gameplay, rather than chasing mass appeal.

Well that's just the advancement of human collective knowledge and skill over time due to the ability of society to pass on knowledge and make decisions about the future. That's pretty much the definition of politics. Group decision making.

That is exactly why the midterms will be so important, not to mention the next presidential election. We need to keep the momentum going for a blue wave, and this protest may have helped with that.

When that fails, when Democrats lose voting rights, when Trump pardons the Minnesota assassin to effectively legalize political violence against MAGA's enemies, when all peaceful options for democracy have been exhausted, then let's talk about the violent revolution. Until then, there's no reason to be a buzzkill about this protest.

The fact that No Kings was nonviolent was perfect, for now, because trying to riot or a coup would have just enabled MAGA to justify state-sanctioned violence of their own.

They are holding signs and walking along streets for a day or 2. That is not stopping fascism.

Can I ask what you're doing to act? I don't mean it as a gotcha question, I'm actually curious. Because I don't know what the heck to do other than protest and vote.

Yes, if you oppose ICE but not the genocide, I am morally superior to you. That is a factual statement.
