What community would you like to see more active on Lemmy?

I'm mildly proud of the fact that the Mini Apple has a more active community than the Big Apple, lol.
[email protected], and I'm like half of that activity and it's pretty dead. Make it, post, and maybe you'll have more luck, but local communities are tough given the small userbase.
(We also have a Democratic Socialist running for mayor, good luck to both Mamdani and Fateh!)
I think a lot of people got really mad at some admin or moderator at midwest.social and hence a lot of people moved off it. Can’t recall why though

Lemmy already superseded my expectations with how active it is. That being said, I would love the following to see more action (although I'm mostly lurking there myself):
[email protected] - Loved the discussions on Reddit. As a European, it's not easy to follow the games, so that was a great way to stay up to date.
[email protected] - Mostly carried by /u/[email protected], whose updates are *chef's kiss*
[email protected] - No explanation needed.
I can’t interact with the crit role community. Is it locked? Am I banned?

When I first stumbled into Lemmy I kinda gravitated to the medical communities, but from day one they've all been pretty dead. Just added a couple more subs now prompted by this thread to see if there was an active one. Here's what I've got in my collection:
...sorted all of them by Top: Month, and there are a grand total of maybe 20 posts spread over only three of the communities. One of those three only showed a single post; and a pretty even split on the remaining two. The rest of them were empty. It's spread way too thin: I've only run into a few other medical peeps here on Lemmy - we don't have 12 communities worth of material.
I kinda wish we'd merge them... which I know goes against the grain of how the fediverse is supposed to operate.
[email protected] and [email protected] were the two most active ones. Mander.xyz seems like a better home for medical talk, but the rules in the sidebar are far too strict for a community this size. [email protected] seems the best at the moment.
...and I'm 100% part of the problem I'm whining about. Outside of a couple introduction posts and questions for the community, I haven't posted anything there either. I should.

Not necessarily:
One of the advantages of a decentralized platform like Lemmy is the ability to create parallel communities on the same topic. “You don’t like how a community is being moderated? Go to another instance and start your own community!” (with or without blackjack and hookers)
However, this is a double-edged sword. The creation of multiple communities on the same (or similar) topics can also fragment the userbase, leading to very sparsely populated communities.
I think it only makes sense to have multiple communities on the same topic if each version serves a specific niche or has a unique moderation style. I think most of the examples you've given would be suitable for consolidation into two or three communities.

Saying you want sports communities then hyper-focusing on American sports is exceptionalism.
There is a small percentage of the Lemmy population that is American, the great majority is European.
No one here cares for American football or the NFL. So why create a community? Because they think we care. Simple as. It's believing that Americans are at the centre of the universe once again

want more girl content To be clear - I am talking about stereotypically "female" subjects, not about the gender itself, and I hope it goes without saying that I want people of all genders to be part of it. Some topics over on reddit are full of guys, NBs, and everyone else, but are what a bigoted 90s teacher would call "female" topics. I want more stuff of what that 90s teacher would call "girly" stuff.
I mean, something like a makeup community. Maybe skincare and fashion. Cleaning tips. Pre and post and peri pregnancy content. The parenting community on lemmy is super quiet. There is a sewing community but it is rather quiet too. I haven't found a mending focused community yet. Boy there even isn't a sailor moon community, like
come onI'm horrible in creating any content tho, so uhm, not sure I should be complaining.

.I assume you aren't engaging in good faith dialog here, given the immediate reach for disparaging remarks, but on the off chance you are, let me ask you this. If you asked somebody what their favorite whisky was, and they replied "Laphroaig", would that be a sign of Scottish nationalism or exceptionalism? Or if you asked their favorite cheese, and they gave "Gouda", a sign of Dutch exceptionalism?
Just because one's answer to "What community would you like to see more active..." is something that is from the US, this is not American Exceptionalism. The question wasn't, "What community do you think every Lemmy user should be required to participate in?" Nor was is, "What community is the best and most important on Lemmy?"
Clearly, at least one person here cares about it. Clearly that person isn't you. Everything you have written here is incorrect, and if you had any shame, you'd be embarrassed to have said it in public.

The new Jakob ep of gamechanger was a good time. That being said, I also don't appreciate how they pushed a player(jess?) to tears(happy tears) in her emotional episode in a way earlier season. Weird lil grey zone I haven't seen explored elsewhere.
I'm very conflicted. But I keep watching.
You wanna feel conflicted? Watch the Greg O'Brien and Aly Beardsley show about paying off their student loans. That was legit reality TV.

That's a pretty good one, but your post was three days ago, and there's only been one new post since. That's pretty quiet compared to Reddit, with hundreds of posts a day, over multiple forums.
