I hate it here.
Then maybe someone isn't sacroficing to moloch hard enough?

It seems that being infiltrated by a Russian honeypot is bad for business.
Seems to be working out fine so far for the GOP
That snake is eating its tail, they don't survive that.

I want to sarcastically comment "where were the armed drones to protect the children??!?" after that article yesterday, but I worry people will ignore the sarcasm and think it's a good idea...
No, thats not in the production environment yet (Texas), its still in testing (florida)

And there is nothing that can be done to stop this, absolutely nothing. I mean, we tried nothing, absolutely NOTHING! and after all that nothing, nothing changed, why can't these stupid lefties get that in their heads?
Actually, they are a little tight, there are some small things we can do. Police can wait outside longer, that way we don't place our cowardly service men to too much danger, can't have them be all stressed out now... We also got bullet proof blankets, active shooter drills and bullet proof backpacks!
These entitled children have nothing to be whining about

If the children had assault rifles on them at all times, they could have defended themselves. Assault rifles, pump guns and other long weapons are perfect for children, since they cannot point it at themselves and pull the trigger at the same time. Also to further enhance the safety of your child, just be sure to give them soft point ammo, since it would shatter on impact with any harder wall and avoid ricochet.
Edit: God save President Trump and watch over all of your children.
You had me until trump watching over my children. Please no.

I blame Macarena.

How does the meme, or pretending it's unique to the US, help to resolve the problem?
None? This is Lemmy, not parliament or whatever US call that thing.
-
A sadly incorrect meme format: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_shootings_in_Europe
So it’s bad when it happens to European and American kids, but totally fine when it happens to Palestinian kids, right?

And the south sudanese! You don't seem to care about them, don't you?!
-
The scale and frequency is unique to the US.
And it's wild because the proof is in the wiki article you linked. Since 2000 there have been a total of 85 school shootings in all of Europe. The US (A single country) has had 630.
The problem is obviously significantly worse in the US.
wrote last edited by [email protected]Y'all almost seem proud of it, to the point that acknowledging other places can have the same problem, is anger inducing?
-
It's unique to the US because we aren't trying to mitigate.
wrote last edited by [email protected]I notice. Even on this forum many people seem to go "This is OUR problem! You euro's have no idea what you're talking about and we shouldn't work together on resolving it"

Still baffles me how seemingly the same population went from hating Russia and commies to siding with them no matter what…

wrote last edited by [email protected]It's not confusing at all once you realize that republicans have no principles and will do whatever their strongman/Daddy says, especially when there's money involved.
Just look at the number of them who promptly did a 180 on their beliefs once trump won in 2016. Who can forget Raphael having his wife insulted constantly by and attacked trump himself, only to end up a lap dog for Trump with no real pushback

they tried a few things. they made everyone use (see-through) concert bags instead of backpacks in one local district, and at another they put in metal detectors at all the schools. at the district where they did the concert bags, both of the shootings perpetrated by children in that town since then happened off-campus

Uh, no. It's nowhere near the same level of problem in other countries as it is here. Trying to "what about Europe" as a gotcha isn't trying to solve the issue, it's diminishing the reality that the USA has a fundamentally flawed issue around gun rights and fun control, and we pay for that problem with too many dead kids.

That's ... not what I was doing? Why read it in the worst way possible?
I'm saying: it's untrue that everywhere else in the world is happy school time, that the problem is unique to the US.
People are people. If you want to understand the factors that drive a person to hurt their classmates, it's even more useful to consider the whole of contexts in which that happens, instead of wrongly pretending it doesn't happen in the rest of the world.
