I'm including anything only available on other Nintendo systems as exclusive for this.

I've got a $50 eShop card I figure I should spend before gold points go away.

I have BotW. It was alright, but it didn't excite me enough to get TotK unless it's on a deep discount.

I've also already got Mario Odyssey and Metroid Prime Remastered. I have a handful of other games but they're not Switch exclusive afaik.

I'm mostly using my Steam deck for handheld these days, so I'd rather not get anything non-exclusive on the Switch right now.

Do you like turn-based RPGs? I loved Fire Emblem - Three Houses and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.

I'd say Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, but seems like that's not what you're looking for.

The Paper Mario: TTYD remake is very good. Or Animal Crossing, if you're looking for something relaxing.

For party games, Mario Kart 8 is always fun. And of course Smash Bros Ultimate if you like that series.

+1 to Animal Crossing. Love the aesthetic of cozy games but sometimes a lack of a solid goal, for lack of a better word (casual games are games, not being judgy about that, they are just not to my personal preference) casual-ness/lack of complexity, or not-the-best gameplay drives me away. I enjoyed Animal Crossing a lot.

Mario and Zelda are the obvious answer, but Golf Story would be my answer as well. It's sad that the sequel sucks (never tried it) and that the series never made it to other platforms.

Yea I really wish it wasn’t exclusive too. Such a unique game

The sequel shipped with a ton of bugs and a lot of the non-golf sports felt very shallow. If I remember correctly the devs announced it was delayed like a week before its original launch date then went radio silent for almost a year. Feels like something went wrong behind the scenes because last I checked they never put out any major patches to try to fix it up.

My favorite indie game on switch is definitely golf story. It's a gold based RPG with a very silly story, and fun 2-d golf games

            Pikmin,

A puzzle store game with cute creatures,

One of my favorites series of all time, I think Nintendo bundles them and sells them as a pack now

TOTK makes BOTW look like a simple tech demo. I wasn't very whelmed with BOTW, either, but I am glad I checked out TOTK because it is, IMO, the best exclusive on the system.

Do you consider yourself as a creative or a Minecraft fan? (Or in a nutshell somebody who likes Legos, map edition/creation etc), because I don't, and I love BOTW but the building mechanics of TOTK have me scared of it 😅

The 99 series is fantastic. I loved everyone of them from Tetris 99 to F-Zero 99.

                  Mario Maker 2.

The only game that can absorb time (almost) endlessly if you're willing. Also if you like platformers.

Smash Bros Ult - I probably have played over 2k hours playing online and tournaments.
