And you cannot take criticism.
What criticism?
The joke being critiziced.

Tut tut, all these maths books promoting unhealthy square shapes, real squares have curves.

I'm sure there are more than a dozen and you are right. I'm still trying to get the hang of the whole fediverse thing, but so far most of the more niche communities I have tried to interact with are on different servers not federating with each other? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong? Not sure about that one.
Also not sure if cross-posting works. I mean I know it works, but do those posts federate correctly? Can other fediverse apps see them correctly?I thought your post was funny

The joke being critiziced.
It's not my joke, so I couldn't care less. I'm talking about jokes in general and the fact that you don't understand how it works.

Lol. You really think you're some kind of authority or something. See, that is funny.

No, I'm just saying you're wrong. But it seems like you cannot take criticism.

Oh let's get pedantic!
The curved edges technically have infinite "side".

Wrong. This is a definition of a [pizza] + [the extra peperoni from the other slices that got stuck to that slice because the cutting was imperfect]

Not if this square is a projection of a curved surface

No, I'm just saying you're wrong.
Based on what expertise? Which criteria do you apply?
That meme is incorrect, and therefore it doesn't land for me and a lot of other people. You cannot say "you're wrong" on that.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]Peperoni are bell peppers. I have no idea why the USA chose to use this word to mean salami, instead of, you know, salami.

You said it wasn't a good joke, because one can easily poke holes into it.
This is not correct. Being able to easily pick apart a jokes doesn't automatically make it bad. Lots of good jokes will not pass that test either.
You not liking a joke based on that logic, is on you alone. But it's not an universal rule of jokes. Do you think you’re some kind of authority or something?

wrote on last edited by [email protected]No, it's an observation I made often enough, that factually incorrect jokes don't land and get picked apart.
I'm tired of this though. If you are satisfied with stupidity, fine. Keep laughing about dumb shit then. I'm out.

Peperoni are bell peppers. I have no idea why the USA chose to use this word to mean salami, instead of, you know, salami.
You're thinking of peperoncino, a spiced chilli pepper also known as sweet Italian peppers. We still have salami in the US.
I'd guess pepperoni is called that because it's dried salami with pepper seasoning.
I found a link just randomly googling.

Well, it's factually correct that I've been having a laugh at your expense, so analyze that any way you want.

Not if this square is a projection of a curved surface
If it is a projection, then there are more than two curved sides, which also begs credence to the interpretability of the angles they intersect.

Well angles between 3 points are always going to be angles. If your choose a different configuration of dimensional parameters you can effectively project a square from the 2D plane into this exact shape, then logically the angles would follow.

I didn't even realize I was on the memes community, I just assumed this was on lemmyshitpost. I guess it's a stretch to call this joke a meme.
